Please be mindful about making your payments for the correct amount: $85 per month for one class per week $125 per month for two or more classes per week BOOST FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB Fall is here and many of the dancers are very busy preparing themselves for Oireachtas! Please come to our Fall Fundraiser at the AOH in Redford on November 10th to support them on their journey and see them dance! Doors open at 7pm and dancing starts at 8pm. The band Seacht will be playing, there will be 50/50 tickets and a tin can raffle. This event raises money for our grant fund that helps send our World Qualifiers to compete at the 2019 Worlds in Greensboro. Tickets can be purchased at aaidbc.org using PayPal or through a teacher. The cost is $10 ahead and $15 at the door. If you have items for the tin can raffle, please contact Katie Cosgrove or Tina Wheeler (tmwpsych@gmail.com) ASAP. Themed baskets are always popular as are gift cards! We also want to invite everyone to our AAIDBC Christmas party on Saturday, December 1st from 1pm-4pm. Please bring an unwrapped gift for a child and a dessert or appetizer. Toys go to the shelter Matrix for women and children. Please also wear your favorite ugly Christmas sweater!! There will be crafts and music to get us in the holiday spirit! There is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory. Unknown PERFORMANCE CLASS TAY-OUTS + APPLICATIONS Tryouts for PC1 are on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the Taylor Studio at 6pm. Tryouts for PC2 are on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at the Grosse Pointe Studio at 7pm. Applications are attached the bottom of the newsletter. The UIS hosts the annual St. Patrick's Parade in downtown Detroit. The meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month and rotate between the Gaelic League, The AOH, and Monaghan's Knights of Columbus. We are looking for someone who understands long term financial planning to help the UIS to better manage its funds. If this is you, please contact John in the office via or by phone. LAUREN EARLY SUMMER WORKSHOP The Lauren Early workshop will be July 26-29, 2019 at the Taylor Studio. She will be teaching new steps. This will be the only summer workshop next year. The cost will be approximately $375 per dancer depending on the cost of her flight and hotel. Please be sure to put these dates on your calendar. IRISH NIGHT WITH THE DETROIT LIONS The Detroit Lions want to support the UIS and the Irish Community with an all new Irish Heritage Night! This year s game is Sunday, Dec 23rd against the Minnesota Vikings. Tickets are $60, with $5 from each ticket purchased coming back to the UIS to support the parade. They are offering a knit cap, food and drink specials, and special raffle items. Another great activity to show our Irish pride, support our local NFL team, support the parade, AND have fun! OIREACHTAS SPIRIT WEAR PRE-ORDER Northwest Designs is offering spirit wear pre-orders for the Oireachtas in Louisville. The pre-order cut off is Saturday, November 11 & all pre-orders will be mailed directly to customers.
