1 Fall Winter From studio to stage... South Bay s most comprehensive and professional performing arts program.

2 Welcome to Palos Verdes Performing Arts Conservatory! Here at Palos Verdes Performing Arts Conservatory, we believe in providing an environment where students continue to be appropriately challenged and build the beginnings of a life-long love of dance, music, and theatre. While performing arts programs are being eliminated in many schools and communities, students have an even greater need to develop public speaking skills, an understanding of team building, confidence, character, and empathy. Over the last 15 years, with the support of our community, we have grown into the most comprehensive, professional performing arts training program in the South Bay. Every day we hear stories of students whose lives have been changed by performing arts. Our growth as a program can been seen in hearing them hit that high-note they ve been striving for, watching the perfection of a second-turn, or bringing a character to life from the pages of a script. And it s because of their relentless dedication to learning, along with our instructors deep passion for sharing their knowledge, that the Daily Breeze awarded us Favorite Dance Studio in the South Bay for a second year in a row. As Co-Directors, it is our privilege to work with your children and to watch them grow and develop into successful individuals. Our goal is to help each child develop a strong sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence through exploration in the arts. Joel Sluyter Conservatory Co-Director Kimberly Nicole Wood Conservatory Co-Director

Students should prepare an audition song that fits the style of the show. It should be approximately one minute in length (one verse and a chorus is recommended). Bring sheet music in the correct key. Students may not perform a cappella or with a recorded accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided. Students should be familiar with the show as it helps through the audition process. SHOW TUITION AND POLICIES Tuition covers the costs of training, costumes, wigs, sets, props, and technical elements. Performers must supply their own shoes/tights. Cast lists will be ed to students within a week of auditions and callbacks. Please acceptance of casting as soon as possible. Tuition is due upon acceptance of role. Financial aid is available. The financial aid form must be submitted at the time of audition. Application for financial aid does not affect casting. Please see Joel Sluyter or Kimberly Wood for more information. Rehearsal conflicts must be approved by the creative team at the time of casting. Students are expected to be on time and prepared for all rehearsals and performances. CLASS TUITION AND POLICIES Class tuition is non-refundable. Students must turn in a completed Palos Verdes Performing Arts Student Information Form before they can participate in any activities or classes. Students are expected to be on time for all classes and limit absences. Anyone arriving more than 10 minutes late will be admitted at the discretion of the teacher. Appropriate dance clothes and shoes must be worn for all dance classes. Instructors will dictate their class attire rules. Hair should always be secured and out of the face. No gum, food, or drink (except water) allowed in the studios. For a fee, drop-ins are welcome. Guest auditing is not permissible. Professional conduct is expected from students at all times. Instructors have the right to remove a student from class if he/she is disruptive or disrespectful. For their own safety, it is important students are in the correct class level for their ability. Intermediate and advanced classes require the approval of PVPA Conservatory Director to participate. If a student is in the wrong level class, tuition paid will be transferred to a different class. Financial aid is available. See Joel Sluyter or Kimberly Wood for more information. Palos Verdes Performing Arts Conservatory Fall/Winter
