Jefferson St. Osceola, IA Dear Queen Candidate: We are excited that you have an interest in being the Clarke County Fair Queen. This is a great opportunity to support your community and share the great pride you have for Clarke County. Listed below are the special activities planned for the queen candidates. Please reserve these dates on your calendar: Friday, June 15 Completed entry form due to the Extension Office before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 We would like as many of the candidates to participate in the parade that can make it. Lineup will be in the Fareway parking lot at 10:45 a.m. Please dress appropriately and bring a bottle of water. Hope to see you there! Sunday, July 15 This day is judging day! This event will take place at the Clarke County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building. Individual judging will start at 12:30 p.m. please make sure candidates arrive by noon. Candidates must have an escort for this event. Please have them arrive by 1:45 p.m. Questions prepared by the 2017 Fair Queen will begin at 2:00 p.m. with doors opening to the public at 1:45 p.m. You will be asked to model three different outfits: 1. Casual Dress- Examples might include: summer dress or simple cotton dress. a. You will meet with the judges individually in this outfit so please wear it first. 2. Everyday attire- If we were too see you around town or in school, what would you be wearing? 3. Evening gown- Example might be your prom dress. Monday, July 16 We would like your help with Clover Kids Exhibit Judging from 2-4 p.m. in the Exhibit Building. This is an opportunity for Clover Kids (grades K-3 rd ) to show case their projects. You will talk with them about their projects and help give them a great county fair experience. We will have examples of questions available that day. Please dress business causal. It s coronation day! The coronation will be part of the 2018 Clarke County Fair Open Ceremonies. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the raising of the flag by the Boy Scouts. Please meet in the Exhibit Building at 6:30 p.m. You will be presented in your formal attire for the coronation. Please make arrangements to have an escort available to present you during the coronation. Our committee is excited for the special days we have planned for you.
