2 Welcome to the world of Mitcham Dance, also the home of Empowerdance. Is your child bursting at the seams to dance? Are you unsure of what to look for in a dance studio? It is imperative to make sure your studio has the following: Qualified, experienced dance teachers that hold current police checks and first aid certificates Clear systems and procedures and concerts and recitals A Strong commitment to safe dance practice and a current child safe policy Systems in place that ensure a non-threatening code of conducts upheld at all times Pathways for your child s future growth and support to move into a career It is important to us that your child is well looked after and that they dance in a safe and empowering environment. We always ensure that safe dance is practiced in every lesson, safety is paramount to all our students. Our commitment to you is that you will not sew a costume, apply sequins to a tutu or adjust straps for a costume. Your child s performance preparation will be completely taken care of by the Empowerdance team. We aim for your child s classes to be at a convenient time so your taxi service can relax on multiple nights of the week. AND. We are committed to your child being empowered, happy and motivated when they return to you. We know it is important to your child that they are surrounded by welcoming and supportive peers who will invite them into class each week with warmth and kindness. He/ She will find lasting friendships with their dance buddies and feel a part of a community. Your child may also want the option to stretch themselves through participating in exams, performance teams and competitions. If your child is looking for an extra challenge, loves to perform and wants to become a recognised leader in our community we recommend that they audition for our Performance Team. 3 Why are our classes unique? All Mitcham Dance classes are designed to EMPOWER students to work toward their best self. With the support and encouragement of our approachable, qualified and experienced teachers, students will train in strong techniques to create a life-long appreciation of dance. All classes are quality assured and incorporate elements of technique with artistic expression, creativity, performance, musicality, spatial awareness, co-operation and coordinated movement qualities. Class lengths are based on age, genre, age, content and range from minutes. The following genres are offered at our studios: ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE (RAD) CLASSICAL Ballet classes training students in the fundamental techniques designed by the RAD Classical Ballet syllabus. An important training foundation class for all other styles. JAZZ A structured jazz class if your child wants to have some funky fun and is wanting to learn technique that will provide strength, stamina and an understanding of their body. TAP Based on developing your child s sense of rhythm and timing following the Glenn Wood Tap syllabus. This style explores the roots of tap through to the most modern techniques taught across the globe. THEATRICAL A wonderful class for the all-rounder. Perfectly balanced fusion of jazz & funk, tap & rhythm and song & dance for ages 2-5. CONTEMPORARY A creative class based on pedestrian movements involving floor rolls, falling and recovering, travelling combinations, spatial awareness and dynamic exploration. MUSIC THEATRE If your child loves to sing and dance. A general musical class based on the TV show Glee. HIP HOP A fun film-clip type up-to-date dance style, perfect for learning moves for the school disco. AcroDance: If your child is wanting to learn all the tricks, flips and become flexible enough to do the splits and strong enough for handstands, this class is for them. **Please note they must be doing at least one Ballet or Jazz class if they wish to enrol in AcroDance. Extended Pathways NATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CERTIFICATES II, III: A creative way of gaining qualifications in dance students can start Certificate II at age 14+, gain SACE points for Certificate III. INFINITY PERFORMANCE TEAM- Junior and Senior Teams Infinity is specifically designed for the seriously in love with dance dancer. These dancers train at our Edwardstown location on a Tuesday afternoon and perform 4 times per year and compete in competitions 4 times per year. Entry is by audition only and dancers in Infinity are required to attend a minimum of 3 dance styles per week, and participate in an examination in August. EXAMINATIONS Exams are offered in RAD Classical and GWT Tap from 6 years and above. Age restrictions apply and students must attend a minimum of 2 classes per week to participate in the classical exams. Holiday classes are held for both genres.

Hip Hop: Black and white hip hop T-shirt purchased through MD and GD, black pants, black and white sneakers. Boys: Classical, Jazz and Tap: black or white t-shirt, black shorts or leggings, black ballet shoes and black tap shoes Acro: Students choice of either our black uniform crop top or leotard and uniform black high waisted pants, bare feet. *Uniform leggings and crop tops are specific and can only be purchased through our uniform shop. * Uniforms are compulsory and must be worn to each class and to the Mid-Year Showcase. * Students must also have their hair in a bun for all styles except hip hop, where hair can be worn in a neat pony tail. * Uniforms play a role in the safety for our dancers and allow our teachers to adhere to correct training principle. Uniforms also provide training in etiquette excellence.

This fee is automatically applied to every class your child is enrolled in. DANCE PACKAGES For the Level 5 or younger student wanting to do two classes of the same style Strengthen skill & technique by adding a second class of Tap or Ballet (costume/concert levies still apply) Available for one extra Grades Classical or Primary - L5 tap class. Add any second class in the same style for only $ per term. For the student wanting to do more than 4 Classes a week Junior Dance Package (11 years and younger) $ per term* or $52 PER WEEK on a 40 week payment plan This package is a must for any younger student with the desire to do the whole lot. Pay the one flat fee, each term and watch your young one grow and excel! *This does not include private tuition, exam practice sessions, performance teams or costume levies. Senior Dance Package (for 12 years and over) $ per term* $60 PER WEEK on a 40 week payment plan If your child is an all rounder and wants to do a combination of classes, this is an essential package for the benefit of your teen and your hip pocket. *capped at 8 hours per week. Larger packages negotiated upon negotiation. *This is not inclusive of private tuition, exam practice sessions, performance teams or costume levies. INFINITY PERFORMANCE TEAM Entry by audition only Seniors: $ per term * or $78.00 PER WEEK on a 40 week payment plan (this includes unlimited dance classes, and does not include costumes/concert levies) Juniors: $ per term * or $58.00 PER WEEK on a 40 week payment plan (this includes unlimited dance classes, and does not include costumes/concert levies) NATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS For senior school students wanting to study dance as a part of their SACE certificate Be awarded up to 75 credits towards your SACE certificate. This is perfect for senior school students already doing more than 3 classes a week. Why wouldn t you put those hours towards a national qualification and your SACE certificate? CUA20113 CERTIFICATE II IN DANCE $500 deposit + 3 payments of $399 - includes 1 class per week CUA30113 CERTIFICATE III IN DANCE $500 deposit + 3 payments of $499 - includes 1 class per week PAYMENT PAYMENT OF ALL ACCOUNTS IS DUE PRIOR TO THE TERM START DATE. We accept Cash, Cheque, Visa, Mastercard, and Electronic Fee Transfer (EFT). Invoices are ed to the parent that is nominated at the time of enrolment. A Late fee of $20.00 will apply to any fees paid after the due date. Late payment of term fees may result in your child being excluded from classes. Payment plans are available upon request and can be carried out via Ezidebit payment system. 6 The questions we get asked a lot WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD? Choose from classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip hop, AcroDance, Contemporary and Musical Theatre classes. Here is a general guide for you to follow: Music Theatre: if your child loves to sing and dance and is a general drama queen! Contemporary: if your child is more a free spirit - loves rolling on the floor and being creative Hip Hop: if your child loves film clips, and wants a casual fun class to help them at the school disco! Tap: will develop your child s sense of rhythm, timing and if he/she loves to make noise Jazz: if your child wants to have some fun but is more serious. This has technique involved Ballet: If you or your child wants to know how to dance like a ballerina or dancer. This taught with a clear intention to create a foundation for all dance styles- even at a young age Theatrical: this is perfect for your child to learn funky jazz, tap/rhythms and vocal skills AcroDance: if your child is wanting to learn all the tricks, flips and get amazing at splits and handstands, this class is for them. Please note they must be doing at least one Ballet or Jazz class if they wish to enrol in AcroDance. CAN MY CHILD TRIAL A CLASS BEFORE ENROLLING? Of course we would love your child to come trial a class. Simply contact us and we will happily talk you through the best days, times and locations to trial. WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR TO A TRIAL CLASS? If you child doesn t have the right gear on their first trial they will need to wear just simply a singlet or t-shirt and leggings. Sneakers for hip hop, bare feet for contemporary, socks for classical, and jazz, and school shoes for tap. It will be imperative after enrolment to purchase the correct uniform and shoes. Our Uniform shop is open on Saturday and has a range of our uniform needs to help you get all set up. Pre-loved dance shoes are also available for purchase. HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? We ve designed our fees to very affordable, ranging between $115 for a 30minute class to $240 for a 90minute class. If you are wanting a combination of classes we offer bundles that make your hip pocket sing sweet songs. Costumes for our end of year performance are easily affordable with our costume levy being charged to your account each term for $20 per term- we take care of everything for you (no sewing sequins or spangles onto costumes the night before- YAY) This fee also covers sets and props for the shows, shipping costs, sourcing fees and concert costs. DO YOU HAVE CONCERTS AND RECITALS? We sure do! We are a performing arts studio therefore we love developing the confidence in our students that allow them to do what they love in front of a supportive crowd. Concerts: Mid-Year Showcase- in May or June each year. This is done in uniforms at a theatre, this is a simple and delightful insight into what your child has been learning. Annual Showcase in October or November each year. This show includes costumes in a theatre setting, we size fit and prepare costumes for each child in preparation for this event. It is our intention to make this a fun stress-free celebration for you and your child. WHERE DO WE GET OUR UNIFORMS FROM? Uniforms are a necessity when your child starts dancing, it helps them feel like they are a part of a team and can fit into their group easily. We stock most of our uniform needs, however should you wish to visit a dance shop please be our guest. Hip hop and music theatre t-shirts as well as our uniform leggings and crop tops are available upon order from the uniform shop. Pre- loved dance shoes are also available from our uniform shop. WHEN I ENROL, HOW LONG AM I ENROLLING FOR? Enrolments are for the whole year, but can be cancelled at anytime. Please see our terms and conditions for the fine print. CAN I WATCH MY CHILD IN THEIR CLASS? We love allowing our students the opportunity to learn in an environment that provides them with a sense of security while they learn. For this reason, we have a kiss and drop method once your child is settled into their class. WHAT ARE THE ADDESSES OF OUR STUDIOS? The details requested are YOUR details (or the person paying the account). Select next and add the student details Select next and select to enrol into a class (see below), trial a class, add another child or go to your account CURRENT STUDENTS: Enter your and login simply, If you have forgotten your password simply follow the prompts underneath the request for your and password. Enter the address you previously have provided to Empowerdance Pty Ltd An will be sent to this address, with a link to set up a password for your account this link is valid for 7.5hours Once you have set up a password, you will be taken back to the login page, where you will need to enter your and password TO ENROL INTO CLASSES OR TRIAL A CLASS TO TRIAL A CLASS: Select Request a Trial/Drop in class Select the class you wish to trial. You can switch between the locations by using the tabs above the timetable. Select the date you would like to request your trial for The office will be notified of your request and will contact you prior to the class if there are any concerns, or after the class to check how your child went The office will process your enrolment and send you an invoice once confirmed TO ENROLL INTO A CLASS(ES): Select Enrol in a class Accept the waiver agreement Select the class you wish to enrol into. You can switch between the locations by using the tabs above the timetable. Select Enrol student in another class if you wish to enrol in more than one class** Select Checkout Review the selected class and if correct select Next Confirm you understand of the enrolment process and accept the confirmation The office will process your enrolment and send you an invoice once confirmed PLEASE NOTE THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY CALCULTAES YOUR CHARGES AT THE FULL RATE AND WILL DISPLAY A PAYMENT PAGE AT THE END OF THE ENROLMENT PROCESS- THIS MAY NOT REFLECT THE CORRECT AMOUNT OWING. 8 The little words we encourage you to read before enrolment (the T & C s) Enrolment for classes at EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd (Mitcham Dance/Gravity Dance) is confirmed by completing all sections of the online enrolment form, and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions. DUTY OF CARE & CONDUCT Students consent to participate in classes at EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd venues at their own risk and dance within their own limitations and capabilities. EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd and their employees endeavor to take reasonable care to ensure they do not cause reasonably foreseeable injury to students (ie safe warm-ups and cool downs, transitions etc). Students and their guardians acknowledge that dance and performance related activities can involve risk and may involve elements of danger. Students of EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd are required to adhere to the safety procedures and be responsible for their behavior whilst on the premises. EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd does not accept responsibility for any student s safety outside the studios. Foul language, bullying and disrespect to peers and teachers is not accepted in any circumstance. Any photos presented outside of the premises must have permission of all involved, including teachers. Permission is granted for teachers only, who may occasionally film for reference with permission of their class members. CONSENT The student and their guardian consent to release any photos and video footage obtained of the student whilst in EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd premises. The student and their guardian consent to the aforementioned photos and video footage to being used by EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd for the purpose of advertising, including but not limited to and and Buddy online. Any photos or video footage obtained on the premises of EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd and remains the sole property of EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd Empowerdance Pty Ltd is the umbrella company that trades under Mitcham Dance and Gravity Dance RESPONSIBILITY EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd does not accept responsibility for the damage or loss of goods left on the premises prior to, during or after dance classes and performances. The student and their guardian are solely responsible for their personal belongings & property whilst on the premises. The student and their guardian release EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd instructors and staff members from any responsibility in any way for loss or damage of its personal belongings or property. The student and their guardian shall make no claim adversely impacting, causing hardship or undue stress on EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd as a result of their actions. UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES If EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd is unable to comply with any of the provisions of this agreement by virtue of any cessation or interruption of electricity or gas supplies, industrial disputes, plant or equipment failure, or any other unforeseen contingency or accident, EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd will not be liable. TEACHERS EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd employs teachers who are specialists in their field to instruct classes. All teachers have current police clearances, and have been selected by EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd for their quality and experience. At times, scheduled teachers may not be available and an alternative teacher will be scheduled. Due to the nature of the entertainment industry and the high standard of teachers employed with EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd, teachers may change at the discretion of management. AGE CLASSIFICATION Students must be enrolled into the age bracket according to the class descriptions. The student must then remain in this class and age bracket for the duration of the year. Participation in a higher age bracket and class is subject to teacher and management approval. ATTENDANCE & LATENESS In all cases, students or parents are to notify the office if a student is to be absent (even if the office is unattended). Absence at any class results in the student forfeiting the class fee. Students age 10 and over are responsible for catching up or stepping out of any choreography missed during concert preparations. Classes can only be made up in Term 1 if there is another class option available and are only available upon request. In the event that a student is late to class, teachers will not make up the time with the student. MAKE UP CLASSES Students who miss class for any reason are permitted to make up a maximum of one class per term for the class missed. Makeup lessons must be arranged through the office. CHANGES TO ENROLMENTS Students may add classes after enrolment, provided their EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd have approved the new class(es). All adjustments must be communicated to the EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd office staff via phone or . CONCERTS AND COMMITMENTS All students will perform their group items in the Mid-Year Showcase and End Of Year Annunal Showcase. Some additional rehearsals may be necessary and all concerts have strong focus on the student skill development and encourage team morale with a positive spirit. DAMAGES The signatory will be financially responsible for any damage sustained to EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd property/or fittings by the student or their guardian. The signatory will be charged for any repairs, labour or replacement as deemed necessary by management. PAYMENT Tax Invoices are sent shortly after your enrolment has been processed. Accounts must be paid in full within 10 days. Payments can be made via cash, cheque, credit card, EFT. If necessary payment plans can be negotiated upon request. In the event that payment is not made by the required date, the student will not be permitted to participate in classes and a $20.00 late fee will be added to the account. Payments are nonrefundable under any circumstances account credit may be applied at management discretion (see cancellations). CANCELLATION All enrolments are secured from February to December each year and are carried over into each term during that period. If a student is enrolled after after week 6 of the current term, he or she will only be liable for the tuition fees from that time. Costume/concert levy is charged for the entire year and is in addition and exclusive of tuition fees. In the event that a student withdraws from a class, written confirmation must be sent to the office. All fees are non-refundable however students may apply to have fees credited towards another class. EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd reserves the right to transfer the enrolment of a student in a class that does not meet the class viability requirements. If the student withdraws from a class at such a time that costumes have already been ordered for the End of Year concert, the costume fee(s) must be paid and the costume will be posted prior to the end of the year. EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd will provide families with a final date for making class changes. CLASS CHANGES If at any stage, minimum class numbers are not met EMPOWERDANCE Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel this class, and relocate students into an alternative, suitable class
