1 Miss American Heart of Gold State Pageant Information Courtyard Marriott Houston Medical Center 7702 South Main May 12, 2018 Check in is Friday, May 11, 2018 You will receive your Contestant Package with your contestant number, event timeline, T-shirt, guest wristbands and camera passes. At this time, you will turn in your emcee bio sheet, essays, community service and spokesmodel logs, and any pictures you want entered into Miss Photogenic division. You may also pay for any last-minute add-ons for your competition. CASH ONLY accepted at check in! Each contestant is REQUIRED at check in to bring 1 baby item (choose from the list provided) and 1 gift to present to the crowned Queen of her division. If the two mandatory items are forgotten, the contestant may donate $10 for each. The Courtyard Marriott Room Blocking at Courtyard Marriott Medical Center is $ for a limited time. It is highly recommended that you make a reservation to ensure convenience and timeliness to all the pageant events. There will be a dressing room provided. Please bring extension cords for curling irons, extra lighting...etc. Bring your own mirrors and garment racks. The dressing room will open at 8:00 am.

2 Divisions Miss (19 years - 29 years) Teen Miss (15 years - 18 years) Jr. Miss (12 years - 14 years) Little Miss (9 years- 11 years) Tiny Miss (6 years- 8 years) Wee Miss (3 years- 5 years) Baby Miss (0 mos - 2 years) Each contestant must compete in the age division of her exact age she will be on the day of the pageant. Each Division will crown a Queen title and have optional crowned runner up title of Miss Heart. Special Royalty Queen Titles Miss Golden Heart This title is the given to the runner up of each division if it has been entered during registration. If the runner up has not entered to compete for Miss Golden Heart, it will be given to the next contestant who did register for the title. Golden Heart Supreme Little Miss & Miss These Queens will have the highest scores overall. They will be the face of the Miss American Heart of Gold Pageant and will receive a swag bag fit for a Queen as well a Grand Supreme Crown & Sash! Miss Heart of Gold Cover Model This Queen will have raised the most money for program ads. She will be our State Cover Model and receive a beautiful crown, and sash! Miss Heart of Gold Spokes Model This Queen will have the most appearances representing Miss American Heart of Gold in her crown and sash. She will receive this State title, along with her beautiful crown and sash! Golden Heart Community Queen This Queen will have logged the most community service hours. This is the heart of the Miss American Heart of Gold Pageant System. She will receive this State title and her crown and sash!

3 Specialty Awards Golden Award Trophy & Special Gift for the contestant who brings the most baby items to donate to CARE NET! Referral Award Trophy & Special Gift for the contestant who referred the most people to the MAHoG Pageant Photogenic Contestant who has the overall best score on her pictures entered into Miss Photogenic. Note: Judges do not score solely on beauty, but on personality as well. Have fun in your pictures! Best Overall Essay Interview Western Wear Fashion Formal These contestants will have the highest overall score in each optional and will receive an award.

5 Introduction Let the judges know who you are, where you are from, and what being a Queen with a heart of gold means to you. Our Littles will have a paragraph written by and parent read aloud by the emcee. Limit to 45 seconds Essay Write an essay letting the judges know what being a successful young means to you and how you can achieve success throughout life. Must be one full page, typed, Times New Roman, 12 Pt Font. Western Wear Get your boots and Western Giddy-Up and show your Texas pride! All Western Wear must be age appropriate. Fashion Wear Show Your Flair for Fashion and Strut your stuff! All Fashion Wear must be age appropriate. Miss Photogenic Enter 3 pictures to be judged for the contestant with the most on-camera personality. No glitz or retouched photos allowed! Interview Impress the judges with confidence as they ask questions while getting to know you. Formal Wear Prepare to grace the stage in your dazzling formal wear! All gowns must be floor length with slits no longer than mid-thigh. No breasts showing and all gowns must be age appropriate. No glitz and cupcake dresses of any kind allowed!

IF A CONTESTANT MISSES AN EVENT, THERE WILL NOT BE AN REFUND!
