1 OCTOBER EDITION A Senior Night to Remember What an exciting night it was for all Senior boys soccer players this week, and especially for Senior RHS student, CJ Inverso! After being the manager of the boys varsity soccer team for the past four seasons, Coach Jeff Fisher rewarded him with a special moment during senior night. CJ made his debut on the soccer field playing with the Robbinsville Varsity squad. The game was originally supposed to be played against West Windsor South, but after a scheduling problem they were not able to play. Due to the cancellation, the game was played against Nottingham High School. In the game, CJ had three huge goals in a 4-3 victory against Nottingham. When you see CJ around school, congratulate him on his big night. Good luck to the Robbinsville soccer team as they move on in the State Tournament! Go Ravens! (Article by Ryan Siminske) The Pink Out Football Game Supporting a Cause Through Community Efforts START OF ARTICLE IN THIS FONT (Photography provided by Mr. Fisher) On October 11, Robbinsville cheerleading held their 5th annual youth clinic, in which young aspiring cheerleaders attended the high school gym to learn cheers, chants, and dances from our very own Robbinsville High School cheerleaders. Girls in between the ages of 5 and 14 showed up to the high school gym ready to learn how to become a Raven cheerleader, then stood side by side the high school cheerleaders at the Robbinsville High School pink out game on October 12. The youth clinic raised a ton of money for the cheerleading program and provided smiles and memories that the junior ravens will cherish. (Article by Julia Pancari)

3 Spirit Week Student Reflections Wow!! It s shocking how much participation Spirit Week receives, we used to have to beg people to dress up. With this new Freshman class all expectations were broken when almost everyone I laid my eyes on we're dressed as a baby for their Rattle the Rams Freshman class. I mean is it really a win if they dressed up as babies? Anyway not only that, the seniors brought their A game as well and pushed ahead for their last year of high school.well done! As we transitioned from Merica Monday to Tie Dye Tuesdays, the students of RHS got more and more into the event. Wear R Wednesday was a popular one, where we found students with their homecoming shirts or sports/music sweatshirts and sweatpants. Theme Thursday really brought out whoever is determined to win. With Freshman dressing up as babies, Sophomores as rock stars, Juniors as boxers, and finally Seniors as zombies or creatures from the dead. The final decider having the RHS students embrace their colors on Flaunt it Friday. Orange for Freshman, green for Sophomores, blue for Juniors, and yellow for Seniors. Seeing everyone at the pep rally, or at least the people who didn t lose their shirts yet was awesome! When everyone comes together, even when it s just that grade it brings us all closer in a way. Make it competitive. And who doesn t love to win? The final score of the pep rally being, the Seniors taking the lead overall, then the Freshman for their outstanding number of participation, third place was given to the Juniors (which I m disappointed in we really have to step it up), and, lastly Sophomores. Bottom of the bottom? They better have a game plan for next year, because the Seniors are going to bring it! We bring ourselves to Homecoming Game: what everyone s been waiting for. RHS football gave an amazing effort and displayed true determination for their sport! We can t forget about Homecoming court! Frank Marra and Annie Katz, Joe Consiglio and Macie Renner, Jacob Katz and Anayah McNeil, Jack Gillmer and Jules Schott, Ethan Silberberg and Kelly Herbert. All so deserving, but our winners were crowned: Jacob Katz and Anayah McNeil! Congrats to them! Homecoming was better this year than previous years, I think. Everyone got so into the music. A great homecoming, I d say. I love when the photographers take pictures of you and your friends dancing, and you re so happy but look back on the pictures, and you look terrible in these awkward positions. Is that just me? Although the 2018 marching band season is coming to its end, Nationals are this Sunday in Allentown, Pennsylvania. 6 Theater Spotlight Students Preparing to Dazzle Viewers This Year The RHS Fall Production of She Kills Monsters is nearing closer and closer each day. The cast and crew members have been hard at work to create an amazing experience for the whole school. Let s take an inside look into the cast members experiences, with Lilli Brown! What is your favorite thing about She Kills Monsters? L: I love how close everyone in the cast is! What s one thing for the audience to look forward to? L: Well I know that the set is going to be amazing. It's a really great design, as they're in the process of building it right now. There s going to be some sort of giant dice that people stand on and the background will be really intricate. There s going to be a lot of cool stage combat! Who do you Play? L: I play the narrator and I play the understudy for Agnes. What makes She Kills Monsters special to you? L: She Kills Monsters covers a lot of difficult issues that might not be talked about otherwise. It's hard to pick a show in school that addresses certain issues. It s hard to get [issues] approved, and I think it s great that it was approved. It's great that we get to give our voices to showcase these issues and show them to large amounts of people. Can you give us an inside look as to how rehearsal runs? L: So we get to rehearsals and we typically start with a warm up like an improv game or something. We sometimes do games about focus, if we need to focus or games focused on building up of energy if we don t have any energy. We also do yoga which helps us focus too. Then we get into our character work which we usually do for about half an hour. And then we ll do a run through of everything that we have. We ve finished blocking out the show so now we ve been running through the whole show. How did you develop your character? L: Throughout the rehearsal process we have been doing many different exercises. For example, we do an exercise called viewpoints. The best way to describe it is we walk around the space and incorporate different parts of our character in our movement. We add in different things like if our character walks fast or slow, or carries a lot of weight with them. Like if they lead with their shoulders or head. This really helps create an interesting and well- rounded character. And that s how I developed my character as the narrator and Agnes. (Article by Lilli Brown & Anusha Qaisar)
