1 Washington Woods Elementary Newsletter December 9th, 2016 We very much appreciate all the ways our families support the Leader in Me. We know this is such life-changing work for all our students--and our staff--and we're grateful that so many of you agree. One recent idea that you've really supported is our Love for the TLIM Library fund-raiser. As of today we've brought in over $350 to add Habits-themed books to our library. On Friday, Dec. 16, we hold our annual Holiday Sing-along. For many of us, this is one of the highlights of the year, an opportunity to slow down and have fun as a school community. Parents are welcome to join us. Here's all we ask: 1. Check in through the office and try to be seated by 1: At the end, allow all classes to dismiss for their winter parties. 3. Remember that space and supplies are limited, so please respect that parties are for students. 4. Parking will be in the main lot, entering through Door #1, and the west lot, entering through Door #12. Tonight is our second Parents' Night Out Movie Night. We're grateful to the PTO for planning these fun evenings for our students. The PTO is always looking for some extra hands, so when you bring your child by tonight, why not offer to help as a chaperone on Jan. 20, the next Movie Night. We're all in this together! Next week is your final chance to be part of the district focus group process. Our Superintendent, Dr. Grate, is meeting with parents, staff, and community members to consider ways to manage growth in the district. Your voice matters--please zacheryk@wws.k12.in.us to register for December 12, 6:30-8:30 P.M., at the Intermediate School (enter through door #1). These are important conversations and we want you to be included. As we approach the last school week of 2016 and the holiday season, please remember that one of the nicest gifts for teachers is a sincere thank-you. A note or card means the world. Have a good weekend. -Dr. Williams
