1 1885 Seminole Trail, Suite 203 Charlottesville, VA Annual Spring Performance Dress Rehearsal & Performance Information We are excited for the upcoming annual Spring Performances! In order to accommodate our growing CBA student base, we will have two performances on Saturday, June 8 at 1:00pm & 6:00pm at s (MLKPAC). We have put a lot of time in organizing the performances, in an effort to have students in multiple classes and families with multiple students dancing in the same show. However, please understand that this is not possible for all of our dancers. Please find important information below about the dress rehearsals and performances. Please note all dates and arrival times at the theater and feel free to info@charlottesvilleballet.org with any questions. Dress Rehearsal Days (June 3, 5 and/or 7): Checking In and Out A CBA staff person will greet you at the front door of the theater on June 3rd, 5th and 7th and will guide you into the theater area. All students should come dressed in their costumes and will meet their class monitor in the theater. All students should arrive to Dress Rehearsal with hair and make-up ready and wear a cover-up over their costume. Students will watch the other rehearsals in the theater and wait for their class to be called on stage. Parents are welcome to watch rehearsals and sit with their child s class at this time. Each class will be at the theater for approximately 45 minutes total (each class will rehearse on stage for about 15 minutes). After each class rehearses on stage they will be escorted backstage to view their dressing and waiting area for the performance on Saturday, June 8, No Food or Drink is permitted in the theater! Attendance at Dress Rehearsal is MANDATORY. Performance Day (Saturday, June 8): Checking In and Out Students in the 1:00pm Performance arrive at the theater at: 12:00pm on June 8, 2019 Students in the 6:00pm Performance arrive at the theater at: 5:00pm on June 8, 2019 All students must wear a cover-up in and out of the building, and no dance shoes should be worn outside when entering or exiting the theater. Please make sure each student has a change of clothes for after the performance, as all students will return all costumes before leaving.

2 Checking In: Please bring all students to the to the lobby Check-In Tables to drop off with the CBA staff member so they can be escorted to the Backstage Area. All students should arrive with hair and makeup ready and wear a cover-up over their costume. Checking Out: ALL students are REQUIRED to stay for the full performance (including Curtain Call). NO students will be dismissed before the end of the show. For security purposes NO parents will be allowed backstage during or after the performance. Only one parent will be permitted in the designated pick-up area after the performance and your child will be escorted to you once they are done changing out of costume. Important Student Information Hair: Students should have a performance quality bun (center of head, no part) for the Dress Rehearsal and Performance. Please pull all hair back into a ponytail (including bangs) and then wrap hair around the band. Secure with several bobby pins and then a hair net. Use extra bobby pins to secure firmly. Please use gel or hairspray to keep whispies back. Need a tutorial? Click Here Makeup: Stage makeup should be worn for the Dress Rehearsal and the Performance. Recommended Stage Makeup Includes: Mascara, eye shadow, eyeliner, blush, and red lipstick. (*Students under age 8: makeup is at the discretion of the parent) Nail Polish: We prefer that students do not wear any nail polish. Other Notes: No jewelry is permitted (small stud earrings are acceptable if they cannot be removed). Underwear: a nude/skin tone camisole leotard is preferred instead of wearing underwear. This full body coverage allows for easy backstage changing. Students are required to wear their own tights. These details will be provided on your costume information sheet, which will be handed out in April/May If you bring any personal items (including phones, electronic devices or any other items) Charlottesville Ballet and the are not responsible for any lost or damaged items. Only dry (drip-free) snacks will be permitted backstage- please no eating in costume! Ticket Information: NEW this year: No tickets are required for entry into either show. Seating is all General Admission and free of charge. The house will open 30 minutes prior to each show. DVD Information: DVDs of the performances are available for purchase for $35.
