They all did a fantastic job and we are proud they represented Gray County! If you have not, please make plans to come into the office to pick one up or call the office and we can mail one to you. We need ALL 4-H members to be a part of this and help raise money for our program! We need Thanksgiving orders turned in by October 18th and Christmas orders due by November 15th so that they may be received in time for the holidays. If you need more order forms or have any questions, please call the office at

2 P a g e H F u t u r e s a n d F e a t u r e s Tractor Supply will be sponsoring the Paper Clover Campaign on October 5-October 16. We will set up a table on Wednesday, October 5th at Tractor Supply to promote 4-H and sell clovers. David would like for us to sell clovers throughout the week like we did last year and we especially need a few members out there on Saturday, October the 8th and Saturday the 15th, those will be the busiest days with the most business and better chances for us to sell our clovers. Please call the Extension office and volunteer to work the table for an hour or more during throughout this week. We need ALL 4-H members to help with this sale. Texas AgriLife Extension and Capital Farm Credit will be hosting a breakfast and a series on Livestock Risk Management on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Gray County Annex. The breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 8:00. We will go over livestock & forage insurance products as well as GrainBridge. If you have time to come out, everyone is welcome. Please RSVP by October 3 to PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT FIELD TRIP The photography project has planned a field trip to meet and get some beautiful shots at Lake Mcclellan! Bring your cameras and plan on meeting at the lake (see map) ATV/UTV trailhead staging area at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th. 3 P a g e 3 Food and Nutrition Project It is now time to prepare for Food Challenge and Food Show. We will meet on October 7th at 5:00 p.m., October 9th at 3:00 p.m., October 18th at 6:30 p.m., October 25th at 6:30 p.m. and October 28th 5:00 p.m. Food show paperwork needs to be turned in to Joan no later than October 20th. County Food Show will be on October 23rd at 3:00 p.m. Joan will send schedule of interviews. Big Fun in D 1 will be November 4th and 5th. Air Rifle Air Rifle will be every Monday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. We will follow the Pampa ISD school calendar, which means, if there is a Monday Pampa ISD does not have school, we will not have Air Rifle. Archery Project The Archery Project will meet on Monday, October 3rd and Monday October 17th at 6:00 p.m.. Please call Chad Epperson at for more information. Dog Project The Dog Project will kick off in November. We will start by learning about dog care and basic obedience in the fall. In the spring, we will begin preparation for the State 4-H Dog Show. 4 4-H Park Clean Up Sunday, October 2nd at 4:00 p.m. Please make plans to come clean up our park and help the community! Livestock Quiz Bowl Gray County 4-H members have the opportunity to compete in Beef Quiz Bowl, Horse Quiz Bowl, or Swine Quiz Bowl at the Big Fun in D1 Roundup scheduled for November 4th and 5th. It is a lot of fun and a great way to learn more about livestock and test your knowledge! We can provide study guides with the contest questions. 6 TRI-STATE FAIR RESULTS We had several 4-H members participate in Tri-State Fair this year. Everyone did a great job!
