2 She wanted to forget Leave herself behind Get rid of the bad Scream Boy she wanted to scream Relinquish the anger Let it deflate the white hot inside She wanted it gone She searched for an answer And she found it At the bridge She stood on the edge Took a breathe And jumped Her heart stopped The chord jerked Yanking her up She screamed She screamed til the white hot leftand she felt alive again

3 They watch the gate The mass of green streamout of the exit The soldiers look relieved They continue searching People embrace Finally, her eyes find his Her children squeal and run He drops his things and holds them She cries and he holds her Daddy s home People cry beside her She can t find him She clutches her- Swollen stomachand stifles a scream He won t know his father Her knees hit the floor Daddy s gone Across the Airport She watches the gate The ocean of green streamout of the exit The soldiers look broken She keeps searching

4 Her body is frail Like a skeleton, it is structured Arms, weak and brittle The strongest person I have ever known Her days are long and dull Dark and abandonedare her dreary eyes A gray cloud on a- July afternoon The strongest person I have ever known She can t move mountains Can barely force a smile And yet, She s the strongest person I have ever known

5 She ran She ran because hecouldn t catch her Not again Battered shoes smackingthe pavement Adrenaline coursed her veins He was getting closer Panic swept through her Faster she pleaded Legs screaming in protest Faster Feet throbbing Chest burning Lungs near bursting The wind challenged her Allied with the enemy Slowing her down He couldn t catch her She would never let him Never He swiped She froze Tag You re it

6 Sheets of ivory bound together Like an eternal dream Thin black footprints, captivating mindless wanderers Like an eternal dream Shifting the gears in a rusted mind Tempting a stable addict Like an eternal dream

7 She Is cool. He Hates school. She Has guts. He Has cuts. She Has fun. He Is done. She Can t frown. He Feels down. She Strives high. He Gets by. She Has style. He Feels vile. She Knows love. He Knows of. She Is smart. He Lost heart. She Lived life. He Held knife.

8 I am a red balloon you see It s quite a truthful pair Throughout my lifesomeone comes by And adds a puff of air Now yes I understand thatthe comparison is queer But hold on just a moment For it will become quite clear Now every year some people come- And add a few more puffs And my mind expands and swells With a worn and strangled huff Until it starts to feel like my- Cerebra might just shatter Then the pressure that is added- On will definitely matter You see balloons are very fragile And it wasn t long before The stress had tore and leftthe pieces broke and on the floor
