This will give adequate time to get it in the CC. The August meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM. Ed Borkowski read the minutes of the July meeting. Brian Zygadlo read the treasurers report. Joe Zumsteg attended the meeting tonight. Good to see him out and about. Felix Mata CD gave his report on the Electric Event. There were 18 participants, a good turnout considering it was a very hot day, Joe Felonk said there would be a car show in Willow Springs and asked if anyone would volunteer to help. He also said don't forget the club picnic on August 7 for all the members and their families. He reminded us of the September Giant Scale Event, suggesting that if we had any new aircraft supplies or hardware, we would never use, to bring it to airshows to be used as prizes. Mike Sula said he a box of new and used stuff he would donate. Jeff Peca of the Fox Valley Aero Club in St. Charles announced they would be having a night fly on August 13. The Mt. Greenwood Party in the Park will be on August 28 at the Chicago Agriculture school, and Pulaski.

2 Palos RC members are invited. Bring an aircraft for static display. The Palos RC club website is still under construction/repair. Dennis Meindersma reminded everyone about the Westmont Event. Wings were awarded to Cody Marquardt. Congratulations!! Brian Gardner CD for the Combat Event on August 21 reminded all to attend the mayhem. Rick Hixon talked about the advantage of attending events held by other clubs. All the visitors have to do is fly. All the work is done by the host club. Vladimir Holis went to Maryland for a glider slope soaring event. SHOW AND TELL Patrick Sleigher showed his Dynam foamy Cessna 310 Grand Cruiser. Felix Mata had an Elite Models AeroCub( Crazy Beaver). September Birthdays Clint Ed Paul C. Also thank you to all the helpers who brought the supplies and other edibles including, snacks, condiments, fruit, drinks, and desserts. And of course to those who grilled the food. A good job done by all! Westmont Cruisin Nights Review Prize Winners Felix Mata won the glue. Jack Gildroy won the raffle.. Dennis Miendersma Originally scheduled for July 21, the display and demo was postponed 3 weeks due to an Excessive Heat Warning. August 11th turned out to be much the same but without the E-H-W. And then Mommy Nature threw in some dark threatening skies and high winds late in the afternoon. Not more than a sprinkle was felt, and the event got off to a slow start. Members from Palos R/C Flying Club, Prop Masters R/C Aero Club, and Woodland Aero Modelers were in attendance. EAA 461 was unable to attend at the last minute. By early evening the skies cleared, the winds died, the street was full of cars and teaming with spectators. Several pilots took to the skies and soon declared air superiority over the Manning Lot in downtown Westmont. Notable spectators included Westmont Chief of Police Tom Mulhearn, and Village Manager Stephen May. Joe Gavenda (Palos) did some aerial photography with a multi-rotor. Dave Carlson (Prop Master) demonstrated small helicopters such as his Blade. Hank Bourassa (Prop Masters) showed the spectators his ability to do 3-D with a heli. And Tony Mataitis (Woodland) flopped around in 3-D fashion with his large foamie, including how to land without a battery pack! Herb Kilian (Palos) showed the real thing with his full scale 60ft wingspan glider. When he wasn t explaining cross-country flying, he was letting kids sit in the cockpit and work the controls. Steve McCarthy (Palos) had a Piper Pawnee on display which was a perfect prop to explain getting Herb s glider into the air. The most sophisticated and expensive glider ever built was displayed in model form. Joe Felonk (Palos) brought his turbine powered Space Shuttle. Meanwhile, Jim Fox and Bill Brzostowski (both Woodland) were assisting future pilots on the two flight simulators. The event concluded in the twilight with another sensational 3-D helicopter performance by Hank Bourassa. As last year, he brought his LED enhanced heli and did a routine in the darkness choreographed to high energy stadium rock music Get Ready for This. The purpose of the event was to introduce to, and shed a positive light on model aviation. Judging by the response, we ve achieved that goal. Thanks to all for attending. st

MAX-PRC Indoor Flying Hello All: max-prc indoor flying at the max will end on Thursday, 09/08/2016. Here's the Background The max will close for 3-weeks for major changes and improvements. After 10-years of operating here's what is planned: New, flattened floors, turf and sub-surface Painting Bathroom upgrades New soccer goals, etc. Since Summer 2015 there has been a decline in max-prc usage - due to 1-field vs. 2-fields, weather, etc. Maybe burnout??
