First, we want to thank all of your for being a part of our DDC family!! Our dancers work hard all season long in preparation for our annual recital where they get to perform in front of family and friends. This season we will be having 3 recital shows. All of our recreational classes will be split between the 3 shows. Each show will run approximately 2 hours long. We have included all 3 show lineups in this packet. Please check them carefully so you know which show your dancer will be participating in. We try our hardest to keep siblings and dancers who are in multiple routines together. However, With the amount of students we have, it is not always possible. Both our rehearsal and our recital shows will be held at Lakeside High School, Riverside Dr., Lake Elsinore, CA We are excited to be using this state of the art theater for our recitals once again. They provide us with wonderful backstage facilities for the dancers, the stage is large, the sound and lighting is state of the art, and their technical staff is amazing. This packet contains rehearsal information, all 3 show lineups, information regarding ticket sales, costumes, our accessory list, photo day information, and a list of important dates. Recital Show Dates & Times: Show 1-Friday, June 17 th 6:00pm Show 2- Saturday, June 18 th 2:00pm Show 3- Saturday, June 18 th 6:00pm Ticket Sales: Tickets sales for our annual recital will begin on Friday, May 6 th 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the studio. Tickets will remain on sale during office hours, Monday-Thursday 4-7:30pm. Tickets will also be sold at the door, unless we sell out prior to the day of the show. We continue to offer in person ticket sales as we feel it creates a more personal experience. We can answer questions and assist you picking the best seats for your family. Tickets range from $15.00-$20.00 depending on the seats you choose. It is assigned seating and there is no minimum or limit on how many tickets you can purchase. Please make sure you are buying tickets for the correct show!! All tickets sales are final. Everyone attending the show will need a ticket (children 3 and under who are lap sitting are free). Performers do not need a ticket; they will remain backstage for the entire show. If your dancer is in more than one show, you will need a ticket for each show you plan on attending. We do offer parents the option of volunteering backstage so that they do not have to purchase tickets for more than one show. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up at the front desk. Backstage Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer to work backstage during 1 or more of the recital shows, please sign up at the front desk ASAP. All parent volunteers must remain backstage and help for the entire show. Volunteers will need to purchase a half price finale tee for $7.50 and attend our volunteer meeting on Tuesday, May 24 7:30pm.

2 Costumes: Recital costumes will be passed out in late May. All dancers must have an up to date account and June tuition paid before costumes can be released. If you are on EFT, you must give us permission to run your June tuition before costumes are released. The accessory list is included in this packet. It will let you know how your dancer needs to wear their hair, shoes, tights, and any other accessories your dancer will need. Once you have your costumes, please label all items. Each dancer has had their measurements taken. All costumes have been purchased from catalogues, sized in generic child or adult sizes. We use each manufactures recommended size chart for the best fit as possible. Should your dancer s costume not fit properly, we have a seamstress that can do alterations for an additional charge. Picture Day: We are excited to announce that we will be using DaSilva Studio Photography for our recital pictures. We had a wonderful experience using them for our competition photo shoot and are pleased to have them coming back to take our recreational program photos. Pictures will take place on Saturday, June 4 th and Sunday June 5 th at the studio. Please do your best to have your dancer present for their group photos, no purchase is necessary. If you would like to purchase a group shot or individual photos of your dancer, DaSilva offers a variety of print and digital packages to choose from. Approximately two weeks after the photo shoot you will be ed a link to look at your photos and select your favorite shots. The picture lineup is included in this packet. Rehearsal: Rehearsal will take place on Thursday, June 16 th 2016 at Lakeside High School. The lineup is included in this packet. It is extremely important for your dancer to attend rehearsal. This may be the first time your dancer will be performing on a stage. Attending rehearsal allows the dancers to become a little more comfortable with performing before the actual show! This also allows parents to become more familiar with the venue location, auditorium, and layout. THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL!! Please have your dancer wear regular dance attire and bring their required dance shoes. All classes will run through their routine one time on stage. At the end of each segment, we will run through finale. Once your dancer is finished, you are free to leave. Recital: Dancers must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to show time with their hair and makeup done. Tiny and Wee dancers need to be signed in. When you enter the lobby of the building, turn left and go through the double doors, make a right and head down the hallway. We will have tables there to sign your dancer in. Parents are not permitted backstage unless they are volunteering. Dancer s will stay backstage for the entirety of the show. We will have snacks, water, and lots of activities to keep the dancers entertained. All dancers in Tiny and Wee classes must be checked in backstage by 1 parent. The same parent will be responsible for signing out their dancer after the show. o For all dancers in Tiny or Wee classes that are participating in the Daddy/Daughter dance: after the Daddy/Daughter dance is over, all dads will remain backstage. At the end of the show, dads will bring their little dancer back out onstage for the finale. Once the show is over, those little dancers may leave with their dad. After your dancer is signed in, parents must leave the backstage area unless they are a backstage volunteer. In order to keep all of our dancers safe, parents cannot sign out their child until the end of the show. We want to keep the backstage area secure and we cannot have people coming and going. Dancers who have multiple costumes should have their costumes in a bag labeled with their first and last name. Please no personal items backstage with the dancers, we cannot be responsible for lost items.

We hope that lots of you will join us for this special dance. The cost is $10.00 per family to participate. The video will be available on YouTube so you can practice at home. We will also have a few in studio rehearsals. If you would like to participate, please sign up at the front desk. After your performance, we ask that you please stay backstage with your dancer. All dads are invited to join their dancer on stage for the finale. Dress code for the Daddy/Daughter dance is as follows: Tiny, Wee, and Jr. dancers (ages 2-10): blue dress (Cinderella blue) with pink ballet shoes or tan jazz shoes Older dancers (ages 11 & Up): any white dress with tan shoes (or barefoot) Dads: black pants, white button up shirt (long or short sleeve) with any dark colored shoes. DADS SPECIAL INVITE: Calling all dance dads, the Galactic Empire needs you!!! We are in need of a large number of Imperial Fleet members!!! The details of this special mission are TOP SECRET!! We will meet every Monday from 7:00pm-7:45pm to discuss our strategies for defeating the Rebel forces. If you are interested in helping out Lord Vader and his army, please contact the front desk ASAP and we can give more information Finale: All dancers will be participating in this year s Finale. All dancers in Jr. Classes and up must have a finale shirt. T- shirts are on sale now for $15.00 at the front desk. All T-shirts are pre-order this year, so make sure you get yours now!

4 Juice It Up: Juice it Up will be selling concessions at rehearsal as well as at all 3 of our shows. Flowers: Flowers will be on sale in the lobby at each show. DVD Orders: Golding Productions will be filming all 3 of our recital shows. DVD s will be on sale for $28.00 at the studio starting in June. Payment can be made with either cash or check made out to Golding Productions. DVD s will also be available for purchase at each recital show using cash, check or credit card. Personal Videos & Photos: While we do have the show professionally recorded, we allow you to take your own photos and videos. We do ask that you follow these few rules!! NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY, this is a distraction for our dancers, it can blind the dancers on stage and cause them to get injured NO TRIPODS, you may take video from your seat only, do not go into the aisles as this is against fire laws. Please be respectful to the others around you and do not hold up any recording devices that could block someone else s view. Please do not exit or enter the auditorium during the routines. Please be courteous and make your entrance or exit in between numbers. Programs: We do not charge recital attendees for programs. In order to help offset the cost of printing, we offer business advertisement & note to dancer opportunities!! This is a great chance to say something special to your dancer and/or teacher and create a memorable keepsake. Pictures are available with half and full page ads. Don t forget to submit those daddy/daughter photos with your note for Father s Day Weekend! All dancers will be unenrolled and all documents will be shredded. Our summer session will take place on Tuesdays from July 12 th through July 26 th. Enrollment is open now!! Dancers who participate in our summer session are eligible for preregistration for our season!! Auditions for the Competition Team will be held on Friday, June 10 th 2016 All competition dancers must attend our summer intensive for team and class placement. This will be held on Tuesday, July 19 th & Wednesday, July 20 th. 6 Why should my dancer join the DDC Competition Team? DDC competitive dancers will gain confidence and develop a professional attitude while getting the opportunity to perform for various audiences and panels of judges. At DDC our instructors teach the positive aspects of competition, including working both as a team and as an individually towards a goal, how to win and lose gracefully, and to encourage and help teammates along the way. DDC strives to promote strong technique and commitment. We also encourage our dancers to love, appreciate and respect all styles of dance, not just what they see on television or at competitions. At DDC we keep both our routines and costumes age appropriate! Dancers of all ages who train at the competitive level will progress at a faster rate than those who are recreational. Competitive dancers train with the same group for 11 months, no additional student enrollment is allowed once the season begins. This allows the dancers to train and grow at a more accelerated pace Top Studio! 2016 Top Intermediate Studio!!

7 DDC Recital Accessory List 2016 We recommend all dancers wear makeup for their performance because the lights tend to wash the dancers out. Tiny and Wee dancers (Ages 2-6), we recommend blush, lipstick and maybe a little eyeshadow. We know the little ones can be hard, so please just do whatever works for you and your dancer. Dancers age 7-10, we recommend blush, lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara and any other makeup that you would like them to wear. All dancers age 11 & up, we recommend foundation, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.
