The match will be held o Saturday, Feb. 25 ad Suday, Feb. 26, ad will showcase a umber of top teams, icludig 2006 NCAA Champioship coteders Army, Ketucky, Nebraska ad Ole Miss. Also competig are GC member programs Memphis ad West Virgiia. This is the secod cosecutive year that the Rebels have played host to the touramet, where i 2005 the Huskers claimed their first team title. A first-year member of the GC after seve years of idepedet status, Nebraska shocked the small coferece with a easy victory over some of the atio s best, icludig Army, which would go o to wi the NCAA Champioships less tha a moth later. This seaso, Nebraska returs to Mississippi with the coferece s highest average ad aimig to shoot its best while also workig toward defedig its coferece title. I 2006, the Wildcats have averaged a team score of 4,671 to a 8-4 dual record. Behid the efforts of sophomore Amy Sowash, Ketucky looks to emerge as a major player this postseaso ad push ito either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot at the GC Champioships after fiishig third i However, i order to do that Ketucky will have to pass up Army ad Nebraska, two programs that topped the Wildcats durig dual competitio this seaso. The four remaiig teams are Murray State, Navy, Jacksoville State ad Mississippi. Qualificatio for the evet is based o a combiatio of factors, icludig a threescore regular-seaso average added to the score from the NCAA Qualifier with a resultig media qualifyig mark. The Huskers boasted a outstadig 4,678.7 durig the regularseaso, behid oly Alaska-Fairbaks, but failed to otch quite as solid a mark at the NCAA Qualifier (4,666), which resulted i a fourth-place NCAA berth.
