4 charged Dear Readers of the Thunderer, The theme of the Thunderer is Charged. In the school year students took challenges, overcame the impossible, and sparked each day with new ideas. Pius X High School ignited with the diversity and talent found within its students. This book is dedicated to the greens and golds and the electric yellows and the fiery oranges of Pius. The six colors that blend and bounce off of the traditional colors represent the unique way Pius X High School stays true to tradition yet changes and grows. Through vibrant colors and beautiful images, the people within the walls of Pius are brought to life. ONE, TWO Alyson Matulka, Sarah Kerrigan, and Molly Boatman are in perfect sync as they perform their traditional Fall Kickoff routine. MIGHTY FINE Thomas Krick, Mitchell Grosserode, Mark Wathen, Dean Dalton, and Mike Boes are introduced for the 2014 Cross Country season. Bailey Cowling, Alexa Beckman, Savannah Hanus, Cassidy Diekman, Cassidy Kruse, Kyra Werner, Jacinta Benton, Adam Szatko, Miguel Castillo, Olivia Eskens, Rachel Waite Names Emma Lichtenfield Hannah Bertrand Thomas Hoefner Madison Royse, Nicole Timm Green and Gold surged through the air on a warm Friday night at Aldrich Field. Fr. Meysenburg started off the evening with prayer, As we begin all good things. Each senior assumed their new-found role as leader of the anxious student section, directing the underclassmen in cheering for the team. The electricity resonated throughout the entire stadium. The Marching Band entertained fans before the scrimmage, led by drum majors Nicole Olson and Aaron Heyen. Cheerleaders and Thunderettes were ready with their well-rehearsed routines. Excited coaches and their new senior captains introduced fall sports. The esteemed Matt Grosserode Memorial Scholarship was awarded to a dedicated, passionate senior football player, Thomas Hoefner. All of the fun led up to the start of the football season, the annual Green and Gold Scrimmage. The Green team pulled away with the victory. Afterwards, students charged through the crowd and made their way to the old gym, ending the night with a big ole steamy sweat dance.
