4 RESIDENT UPDATES PET OF THE MONTH Meet Biggie Smalls! Be sure to say hi :) *Send your submission to f 4

5 TEAM UPDATES 5 Reasons I Love the Holidays by Mariana 1. It s the ONLY time of the year we re allowed to eat pumpkin flavored everything. I even heard on the radio there is a limited edition pumpkin scented nail polish. Too far? 2. My senses are overloaded. My eyes see all the highspirited decorations and pretty, deep, rich colors everywhere. My nose smells all the good food I want to eat but shouldn t. And my taste buds are on cloud 9 when I eat the food I shouldn t be eating. But really who can say no to cookies, and chocolate, and pumpkin bread during this time of year? 3. I seem to acquire a bunch of gym buddies. Although this number slowly dwindles as we get further into the year, it s nice to have some friends for a short while. 4. The gift cards I acquire as presents last me throughout the year. Whenever I feel like going on a mini shopping spree, I whip those bad boys out and my wallet doesn t seem to hate me as much. 5. Family. On a serious note, I love the holidays because it s when families and friends reunite after a busy year. This year, four of my mom s siblings will be at my house for the holidays. Imagine 20 people in 1 house for 16 days I couldn t be more excited :) Matt s Message On November 20th, the Solana Highlands team attended the Mark of Excellence Awards held by the San Diego County Apartment Association. We have a fantastic team this year and it is with great pleasure to announce that the Solana Highlands team received awards in the categories of Leasing Professional of the Year, Assistant Manager of the Year, and Property Manager of the Year. Way to go team! MICHELLE S MEALS Hi Solana Highlands! So we all know with the holidays right around the corner, that the main thing on our mind is, How will I get everything done? This can be especially difficult when we have a full time job, or are trying to make it to the gym after our Thanksgiving dinners. There are definitely ways to budget time that will help ease the holiday craze. If you are feeling low on energy, then try snacking throughout the day instead of eating just three big meals. This keeps your metabolism running, and you won t feel that overly bloated feeling that you normally would from one big meal. Now if you re eating too much during the day, and need to work it off, but can t find time with your work schedule, then you could try taking a walk on your lunch break, or even just stretching in your office. This will help keep your blood flowing evenly throughout the day. Although holidays normally mean food, food, stress, and more food, there are always alternate ways to maintain time and energy to keep you stress-free this season. Matt
