1 Friday, September 26 th, kicked off CHS s 100 th Year Celebration and Homecoming! Festivities began that morning with the Freedom Circle Dedication and flag raising ceremony. Next, students participated in a televised pep assembly and showed their Wolf spirit. At 1:30, CHS students and community members participated in the Homecoming Parade, led by Zona Mae McAdams, CHS Class of Pre- and post-game festivities included a tailgate party and reception for alumni. That night the Wolves defeated Cesar Chavez 49-6, and Myia Lomax and Thompson Knox were crowned CHS Homecoming Queen and King. CHS grads and current students continued the party on Saturday with a pancake breakfast and Homecoming Dance. What a great celebration!
2 Thursday, October 2 nd, was a big day for Chandler High! The Wolves defeated the Hamilton Huskies on the Huskies own turf! The CHS cheerleaders and band showed their winning spirit the morning of the big day on 12 News. Great job, Wolves! Chandler High School was awarded an Arizona Civic Engagement School of Distinction Award for Excellence in Civic Engagement at a September ceremony. This recognition signifies that CHS is a leader in high quality civic learning practices and that our students graduate with the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to participate in, preserve, and strengthen our schools, communities and system of government. On September 23 rd, the CHS Choirs performed their first concert of the year. The audience enjoyed great performances from the Women s Choir, Men s Choir, Treblemakers, Advanced Women s Choir, Chamber Choir and Chorale. The finale included the combined choirs singing an Irish Blessing on stage and in the aisles. It was a fantastic experience!
3 Chandler High School DECA, with the help of 1st hour teachers and their students, helped raise $ through the Pink Sneaker Drive to benefit the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
