Welcome to this month s newsletter Hi friends We are so excited to celebrate Olivia s birthday this month and are talking about all things that we LOVE about parties. Also with Easter coming up, Minty and Molly cannot wait to give out lots of chocolate eggs! We are also putting the finishing touches on our 6 Forever Clover novels, which will all be released mid April. 2 Birthday Party Fun! We asked the Forever Clover girls to tell us about their favourite birthday party Maddie: At a place called JUMP in the city. It is a big stadium with heaps of trampolines. They are all connected so you jump from one to the other, there are trampolines on the walls to bounce off and even a big foam pit that you can jump into. It is awesome fun! Emma: Slumber parties! We stay up really late watching movies, eating popcorn and talking about EVERYTHING! Once Abbey s mum had to come in to tell us all to go to sleep because we were keeping her awake! Abbey: Parties at Matilda s house because we get to play with all the animals at the farm. Her dad brings out the carts for the ponies and we get to a race around a track that he made. Matilda is so lucky to live on a farm! Matilda: Olivia s dad took us ice skating for her birthday one year. Every time I fell over my clothes got wet but once I got the hang of it, I had so much fun whizzing around on my skates. It felt like I was floating on air! Kate: At the Swimming Pool in the city. There is a really big and fast waterslide and also a diving board that we loved jumping from. Olivia even did summersaults off it. It was the best fun ever! Olivia: Disco parties! We have fun singing songs along to the music with microphones and dancing under the big shiny disco ball. One time we made up a dance routine which we performed to our parents they all loved it and gave us a standing ovation! Write to the blog and tell us about your favourite birthday party Can you find a four leaf clover? How lucky are you? Alice sent in this month s winning photo. 6 Olivia s Birthday Party We need to organize your birthday party! exclaimed Maddie to Olivia, it s next Sunday. I know sighed Olivia, So soon, do you think we have enough time? We were distracted last week by little lost Luca and I have been so busy with training, I m just not sure we can get organized, she trailed off with a sad look on her face. Oh Olivia, Maddie said as she put her arm around her shoulders for a hug, of course we do. Let s organise an emergency Forever Clover Club meeting after school. Once the bell rang to end the school day, all the girls raced to their secret club house at the quarry so they could quickly start organising Olivia s birthday party. Kate was of course ready with her pen in hand and note pad opened and announced in her pretend school teacher voice Let s get started! All the other girls burst out laughing at Kate s funny impression but then Kate put on her serious face and said let s concentrate, we really do need to get organised. I think we should give everyone a special job to do. Olivia, who was now so excited about her party at their special club house, chimed in I quickly saw mum at the café on my way here and she promised to make us some yummy egg and nut free cupcakes and a fruit plate. Excellent! said Kate and all the girls squealed with delight knowing how delicious Olivia s mum s cupcakes were. We need some party games said Matilda, Definitely agreed Abbey. How about you girls organise that? suggested Kate. Both Matilda and Abbey nodded their heads and quickly whispered some suggestions to each other. This is going to be so much fun! said Matilda as she clapped her hands with excitement. Can I please organise some decorations and make some party hats? said Emma. That is a great idea, agreed Kate as she wrote down on her note pad everyone s jobs. I d love to have some photos taken so we can remember this day forever, said Olivia. That definitely sounds like a job for me, offered Maddie and Olivia instantly smiled. She was really hoping that Maddie would offer as she takes the most beautiful photos. OK, so last thing we need for this party is some cool music for us to dance to, which I d love to do, said Kate. How will we be able to listen to the music in the club house? We don t have any electricity, said Emma with a frown on her face. All the girls loved dancing their funky dance moves together and making up silly dance routines. I know, said Kate, my brother got some portable speakers for Christmas so I m sure we can borrow them. Yay shouted all the girls as they jumped up and started dancing around the club house. 6
7 Oh no, I have to go to gymnastic training, said Olivia as she quickly grabbed her school bag and ran towards the door. See you all tomorrow at school she called behind her as she left. Perfect exclaimed Kate, now we can organise a super secret surprise birthday present for her, said Kate with a massive grin on her face. All of the girls loved surprises! And I know EXACTLY what we can get her, said Maddie. What? all the other girls curiously asked at the same time. Well. Maddie explained, when Olivia and I went to the jewelry store to investigate the beautiful bracelet we found for Rose, Olivia pointed out a cute bunny charm that she wanted for her bracelet. If we put together some of our pocket money, I m sure we could get it for her. So all of the girls picked up their bags and quickly headed off to the jewelry store before it closed. Finally Olivia s birthday arrived and after a delicious breakfast at home with her mum and sisters, she excitedly skipped her way to the club house. All the girls had been very secretive about her party and said that she wasn t allowed to come until midday. When Olivia got to the quarry, it had been decorated with beautiful purple and pink balloons and streamers all around and there was a big sign hanging on their favorite tree that said Happy Birthday Olivia! Underneath the sign was a table with a big cake stand with her mum s delicious cupcakes and a picnic rug where all her friends were sitting and waiting for her with the beautiful party hats that Emma had made in all their favorite colours. Emma rushed over to Olivia giving her a big hug and put her purple party hat on. It was the biggest, most glittery party hat any of the girls had ever seen. Maddie was quick to capture the moment with her camera, Olivia and Emma, say CHEESE Maddie said as she quickly snapped away. How can we get a photo with all of us? said Kate. That s easy, explained Maddie, I know how to use the timer on my camera. We can set the camera up on that tree stump over there, Maddie pointed out. So the girls all gathered in a group as Maddie set up the camera. Leave a spot for me she called as she pressed the timer button on the camera and quickly ran to the girls. Ready..set CHEESE called out Maddie and all the girls smiled with delight. Let s do a funny faces photo said Abbey, YES all the girls squealed together and the girls continued to take photo after photo with lots of different and hilarious poses. Let s get this dance party started squealed Kate as she turned up the music she had spent hours choosing for Olivia. The girls had fun dancing and eating the yummy food Olivia s mum had made. 7
8 All of a sudden, Matilda and Abbey stopped the music and shouted Game time! Then they unrolled the paper Matilda had in her hand to show a poster size photo of Minty and Molly looking adorable as always, but something seemed a bit odd. The photo just didn t look quite right. Olivia started giggling once she realized and said, my bunnies don t have tails!!! That s right, said Matilda because we have to pin the tails on the bunnies and Abbey pulled out lots of cotton ball tails the girls had hand made. All the girls burst out laughing what a clever idea for a game! They all took it in turns to blindfold and spin each other around and see who could pin the tail the closest on the bunnies. Kate s tail was pinned on Molly s ear, Emma s on Minty s whiskers, Matilda s on Minty s back, Maddie s on Molly s front paw, Abbey s on Minty s nose and Olivia on Molly s back paw. No one got close but the picture looked SO funny with the cotton tails everywhere. Let s try again said Abbey, so the girls played over and over again until finally Emma pinned the tail perfectly on Minty. Olivia announced Kate as it was starting to get late, we have one last surprise for you. Kate pulled out a small purple box that was hidden in the bushes and handed it to Olivia. Happy Birthday, love all of us said Maddie and Olivia opened the box to find the super cute bunny charm she had seen in the jewelry shop. WOW she exclaimed and carefully picked it up to look at it closer. She couldn t believe how lucky she was to have such kind and thoughtful friends. She quickly clipped on the charm to her bracelet and everyone gathered around to have a look. It is perfect! said Olivia and all the girls gave her a big hug. Thank you - this has been the best birthday ever! The end 8
