(NTA-ITF) and I are excited to invite you to the 2018 ITF TAEKWON-DO USA NATIONALS & TEAM USA SELECTIONS to be held October 26-28, The tournament will be a featured event at the INTERNATIONAL MARTIAL ARTS FESTIVAL (IMAF) taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports of Walt Disney World, located at 700 S. Victory Way, Orlando, FL The summary of events is outlined below. Saturday, October 27, ITF TAEKWON-DO USA NATIONALS Open to all ITF-style competitors regardless of their ITF affiliation Color belts (10 th gup 1 st gup) Black belts (1 st dan 6 th dan) Ages 6 years and above FINAL TEAM USA QUALIFIER Special divisions will be held during Saturday s competition for all Junior (14-17 y/o) & Senior (18+ y/o) black belts who wish to qualify for a chance to participate at the 2018 TEAM USA SELECTIONS on Sunday, October 28. Note: In order to compete in any of the Team USA Qualifier divisions, competitors (junior and senior black belts, 1 st 6 th dan, must be a current member of a recognized US Allied Association of the ITF (i.e., ATFI, OTFA, ITF-USA, or NTA-ITF). Two ITF Sparring Grand Champion finals will be broadcast live on ESPN3 Tickets will be sold at the Nationals A Day Pass will grant you access to the evening s events Sunday, October 28, TEAM USA SELECTIONS On Sunday, October 28, 2018 Team USA selections will take place for the 2019 ITF World Championship to be held in Inzell, Germany in April This event is by invite only and open to all competitors who earned a place in their respective divisions at one of the five TEAM USA QUALIFIERS. (Senior competitors placing 1 st or 2 nd will qualify, as well as junior competitors placing 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd.) In addition, open team selection will take place for competitors wishing to compete in pre-arranged sparring, team patterns, and power & specialty breaking. All competitors wishing to participate in any category for Team USA Selections must be registered through the IMAF registration page. Please note that anyone wishing to participate in any of the above events must be registered as either a competitor, coach, umpire (judge) or assistant (scorekeeper). Without proper credentials, you will not be admitted to the tournament unless you pay for admission to the IMAF. We have included all pertinent registration information in this package. Competitors must make the weight for the sparring division they will compete in at the 2019 ITF World Championships. There will be a maximum of 500-gram weight margin over the indicated weight is permitted for senior competitors. Competitors not making weight on Friday will have a second and final attempt on Saturday. Any competitors not making weight will be removed from their original sparring division and MUST compete for qualification in the appropriate division for their weight. COACH RULES & REGULATIONS NOTE: All Coaches for USA Nationals, Qualifiers and Team Selections must have a coaching pass regardless of rank or title. Absolutely no exceptions! COACHES (color belt competitors) Coaches for color belts are highly recommended but not mandatory. Coaches for color belts will help athlete have a more positive experience and ensure that they get to the proper location on time. Coaches also provide a safety factor during a sparring match. The fee for Color Belt coaches is $ Each school will be entitled to ONE FREE Coaching Pass with the registration of ten (10) or more competitors. To register for a free pass, please contact Mr. Davila at Davila@NTA-ITF.com. COACHES (black belt competitors) Coaches are mandatory for ALL Black Belt Competitors! All coaches must have a coaching pass regardless of rank or title. Absolutely no exceptions! Any person may act as a Coach regardless of rank. Coaches must be up to date on ITF rules. The fee for Black Belt coaches is $ GENERAL COACHING RULES During individual or team competitions only ONE (1) coach is permitted to be close to the ring. During the tournament coaches must wear an athletic training suit, gymnastic shoes and carry a towel. Coaches will be seated at least one (1) meter away from the square. Coaches are not allowed to interfere with the match. Coaches are also the only ones allowed to present an official protest. NOTE: the protest fee is $
