3 Attention Students: Our Back to School Night is this Thursday, September 17 th beginning at 7:00pm. Please invite your parents to attend to see your school and meet your teachers!! Your parents will need a copy of your schedule to fully participate in the evening activities. If you have a smart phone, please take a picture of your schedule. If you do not have a smart phone, stop by the main office today to pick up a blank schedule to fill out. Take the schedules home to your parents via phone or paper copy today. Thanks!!

4 The first senior meeting of the year will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, September 17 th during STEP. The meeting will be fifteen minutes after the start of STEP. This is a very important meeting, so please be there!

5 SENIORS! HOMECOMING SHIRTS WILL BE ON SALE EVERY DAY AT STEP IN THE MIXING BOWL UNTIL FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 TH. THE PRICE OF THE SHIRT IS $10, AND YOU MUST PAY IN ADVANCE. ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A HOMECOMING SHIRT-NOT OUR CLASS SHIRT. THE CLASS SHIRT WILL BE SOLD IN NOVEMBER. IF YOU WISH TO SUBMIT A DESIGN FOR THE CLASS SHIRT, SEE MS. YOUNG.

6 Attention 9th grade students: Do you love to write? Do you want to be a writer one day? Montgomery College Youth Programs is presenting "A Day of Writing with Authors" on Saturday, October 17, You will spend the day writing with traditionally published authors, and work on different types of writing. For more information, see your English teacher, or see Ms. Farmer in room B223.

7 "Who likes Chipotle? Do YOU like chipotle? Of course. We ALL like chipotle. Go to Chipotle by the fairgrounds next Tuesday, September 22 nd between 5:00 and 9:00 PM. Mention that you are there to support Watkins mill high school, and a portion of the profit earned will go to WM booster club and the WM chorus. How easy is that? That s next Tuesday from 5-9 pm at the Chipotle by the fairground across from Lakeforest Mall. Spread the word. See any chorus member for answers to your questions. Thank u.

8 The members of the Hispanic Helping Organization will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from now until October 15th. Join them in the mixing bowl today and Friday for activities and prizes.

9 Attention all staff, the debate team needs your help. We are looking for help with judging county debate tournaments. The debates are held once a month at Blair High School. Each school has to provide at least one judge for every six students that are debating for our school. Our first debate is being held on September 30 th at Blair. Judges should report at 3:30. The judging lasts until about 7:30. You are paid a small fee for helping us out. Contact Ms. Young if you are interested in helping.

10 There will be two debate meetings on Wednesday of this week. There will be a meeting during STEP today and another one after school from 2:30-4:00. All debaters who plan on attending the first debate on September 30 th should be at one of the two meetings.

11 Its Academic will have its first meeting, today Wednesday September 16. We will meet in B119 at 11:30. Eat your lunch and come play some trivia today.. Come try your luck and answer some questions See you there.

14 Attention Juniors and Seniors: College visits in the College Career Center begin this week. Today MC is visiting 4 th period, and on Friday, the University of Maryland is visiting 1 st period, and Goucher College is visiting 3 rd period.

15 ATTENTION SENIORS: STOP BY THE CAREER CENTER ON TUESDAYS DURING STEP AND AFTER SCHOOL UNTIL 3:45 PM TO GET HELP WITH YOUR COLLEGE APPLICATIONS.

17 Do you know that there is still slavery all around the world today? Do you want to do something to fight this injustice? Then come to The Freedom Movement meeting on Thurs., 9/17. The Freedom Movement is a club that is fighting human trafficking, which is modern day slavery. Everyone is welcome to come and learn how to stop this injustice. We are meeting this Thurs. in room c101 during STEP.
