4 March 5-9 has been declared Provincial Impaired Driving Awareness Week in Saskatchewan. The CCS SADD group have a speaker coming in for the students at CCS on March 9th. Senior Badminton tryouts will be held on March 13 and 15. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00. Eleven grade 9 students, along with Mr. Knight, Mrs. Danyluk and Mrs. Ostafie will be travelling to Ottawa and Montreal for a 6 day educational tour from April 1-6. Highlights of the trip include visiting Parliament Hill, the Montreal Planetarium, and a New France-themed dinner! These are just a few of the many amazing places we will be visiting. 5
6 We have been busy at Canora Composite! Thanks to a boost of money from the Provincial Government, we have been able to hire Cal Tomilin to offer Art 10, 20, and 30 level classes. We have many high school students that are very pleased about this! Welcome back Mr. Tomilin! In conjunction with our school mission of a safe and healthy school environment, we are offering Triple P Parenting classes. Feedback has been very positive about these. Also, we have had some social-media awareness workshops with Sergeant Smith and Corporal Holmstrom. These were excellent! Our students had many insightful questions about social media and online safety. We are very much enjoying the positive interaction with our RCMP members in our school. We even dressed them in some Cougar swag so they can feel right at home here! Today we are wearing pink in support of anti-bullying awareness. Lots of things are coming up Grades 9, 10, and 11 parent meetings, Grades 5-8 Report Cards and Parent/Teacher interviews March 21 & 22, Badminton tryouts, Track & Field, and NASP competitions.
