1 Tuesday, September 27, 2016 New Announcements Seniors: KGI will be EJHS on Wed., Sept. 28 8am 10am. Stop in the Media Tech Center to place your graduation orders. If you need an order form or have questions stop in media tech center to see Mrs. Patterson. When school doors 8am show your order form so you can come to the Media Tech Center. All vocational & JCTC senior students need to go to their first block classes on Wed., Sept. 28 th. You can leave your order with Mrs. Patterson to get placed for you. HOW-TO-AP Workshop will be held after school on Wednesday from 4-5pm. AP teachers have observed that the younger AP Students (juniors and below) are struggling to manage their AP courses. The workshop will discuss how to be a successful AP student. *

2 There will be an organizational PTSCO meeting this Thursday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 in the Media Center. All parents/guardians and teachers are welcome to attend. We will elect officers and begin planning the calendar of events for the year. Interested in opportunities to lead and serve in your community? Join the Y Club. There will be an informational meeting Thursday, 9/29 in Mrs. Purcell s room, 704. Following meetings will take place every other Tuesday in the same room. The yearbook staff goal is to have every student at EJHS covered in the least twice, & all aspects of the school will be covered equally. Ring packet information is available in the Media Tech Center. **** The GSA is going to coordinate EJHS's first Bullying Prevention Spirit Week! October is bullying prevention month, and the events will take place during the week of October 3-7 Monday - Wear Orange Day (Orange is the color associated with Bullying Prevention.)

11 Tuesday - Bow Tie Tuesday (Wear a bow tie to show you stand against bullying! Lindsey Mulcahy will be teaching the GSA how to make bow ties.) Wednesday - Acceptance Day (The GSA is going to create buttons that say, "I am proud to be." You can fill in the line with Sharpie. We'll deliver them to you!) Thursday - Colorful Day (Wear bright colors, tie dye, rainbow, etc.!) Friday - East Spirit Day (Sport your favorite Jaguars gear!) ** EKU visiiting on THURSDAY Oct. 20 th during lunch in the cafeteria. *** East High will now be a test center for the SAT!
