I want to thank everyone for allowing me the opportunity to serve the club. The next couple of years will be an exciting time to be a member of Sundancer s. We have created what is quickly becoming one of the premier R/C parks in the southeast. The flying field is looking fantastic. Thanks to Dave R. With the several new members who have joined and with Larry O. busy training new pilots, it looks to be a good year. The car track has come a long way in the last several weeks. With the talk circulating over the internet it looks like it will quickly become one of the go-to tracks in Florida. Thanks to Tim M., Kerry B., Gary F., Ken B. and all the others for their tireless effort on creating a facility that we can be proud of. We have also picked up several new car guys as members over the past couple of weeks. After the unbelievable success of the Heli Smackdown, we should be seeing more people coming out to enjoy the helicopter area. The lake is looking great! With a new shelter going up to protect us from the elements, I m looking for more boat and float flyers to take advantage of the lake area. I m not sure most of our members know much work goes into making our facility look as nice as it does. Dave R. and Tim M. spend relentless hours making it so. But they need help! We need volunteers, especially for weed-eating. When you re out at the field try to take a turn at running the weed-eater. If everyone would put in 30 minutes or so, it would make this task much, much easier. So, get with Dave or Tim to point you to where it is needed most! Thanks! To sum it all up: let s get to the field and have some fun! But, let s not forget our obligation of being a good steward to the club and its facilities. Keep your area clean and pick-up after yourself and others if needed...try to leave it better than you found it. Fly It Like You Stole It! 2 2 Up close and personal with the ground! Todd, conversing with one of the participants! The flight-line was filling up and the helicopters were plentiful. Everyone was having a great time! A TV monitor was provided and lots of folks were lined up trying their hand at Real Flight. Todd had the music jamming to the delight of many and the frowns of some. I asked if he had any oldies but goodies? I did not get this young man s name, but he can fly a heli! Not sure who was having the better time, him or his Dad!

3 3 Last Saturday before our meeting, some of us had a chance to explore the twists and turns of our newest addition, the CAR TRACK! Todd and Tim were explaining to Doc that he didn t need all those dials and switches! Just steer man, just steer! Action was hot and heavy and we already found out where additional fencing was needed to keep the cars from leaving the road way. Doc looked like a new proud father with his latest edition, a wild blue youngster, that was squirming back and forth along the straight a ways!! Ricky was right a home with the hands on the wheel and running the course like he was an old pro. I am already looking for my first scale car to give this track the workout it deserves. lol

4 4 November Minutes Meeting was called to order at 11:00 by Ken Frehafer. Secretary Report: Minutes from September meeting were read and approved. Treasurer Report: Treasurer report was read by Ken Bridges and expenses for the year were discussed and then approved by the membership. Old Business: The car track was discussed first and it was noted that the car club has donated $2000 towards the clay that has been spread on the track. It was also noted that they have been out and worked on the track this past month, getting it in shape for the grand opening. The also have an older lap counter system that will be donated and or possibly traded in for a new one. The canopy for the pond has been paid for and erection of building is forth coming. The size is 18X21. Discussion followed on missing catfish in the lake. Last but not least, a rundown on our Helicopter Event that was held the previous Saturday was discussed. Todd MacLauchlin did an outstanding job and this event had a total of 71 pilots, making this the second largest event in Florida. Our thanks go out to Ready-Heli for their donations and help. New Business: Discussion on how to incorporate the Car Club with the Sundancers Club. They must be a member of ROAR and a club member. Tim Mullins will be in charge of running the events and collecting the monies. Discussion of percent of money to Club, etc. followed. It was decided that the Car Club members did not have to be AMA members. In order for this to happen, we must have a special meeting to vote on a change to our by-laws. This will take place on December 7th. The same with regards to the Boat Club members. Must be NAMBA members to join. It was also discussed about having a monthly meeting instead of a bi-monthly meeting. This will also need to be changed in our by-laws. This will be voted on at the December 7th meeting as well. 5 Sundancer s 5 RC Club Big Bird Event I arrived at the field on Thursday 2013 morning to help setup the speakers for the PA system, pull much needed supplies for the event out of our storage trailer and get a feel for what the next few days would bring for a successful fun fly. Lists were checked and double checked for volunteers, food supplies, generator, gas, clip boards and the usual what did I forget nerves. Since this would be my first CD event, I wanted to make it as painless as possible, but successful. Weather didn t look bad, but we had some cross winds for Friday and a little stronger on Saturday, our normally largest attendance day. Thursday evening started to see camping trailers and fifth wheels coming in. Time to pick up the ice for the coolers that will hold the food and drinks during the two day event. By the time I got back from town with the ice, I managed to get a flight in and then headed to the motor home and shower and get some zzzzzz s. Friday morning came early and I was up at 6, downing a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee and then out the door at 6:30 to start the generator and fire up the large coffee pot for those pilots coming in early. Before I knew it, 8:00 came around and pilots were coming in to register. The PA system was being tested and a large TV had arrived and was being set up with the Real Flight program to allow those who would like to give radio control a go and try their hand at the sticks. The pilots meeting was scheduled for 8:45 and we were right on track with more pilots arriving as I watched the dew and the cool weather that morning 2013 start to dissipate. Workers started to arrive as well and all I can say is thank you, thank you! This event could not have happened without you, the many volunteers who gave of your time and energy to make this the successful event that it was. Ron and his crew of kitchen workers; what can I say! Super job!!!! The weather turned out beautiful with blue skies and mild winds. By Friday evening, more pilots were 2013 coming in and Saturday, by nine, everyone had arrived and was up in the air or putting a plane or two together. We had pilots from most of the south Florida area and also pilots from far away Indiana and even Michigan. Numerous door prizes were drawn and given away and I would like to take this time to again thank 3G s, House of Power and Troy Built Models for their generous donations for our event.
