ANNOUNCEMENTS Henk Peeters asked us to support the upcoming Freedom Day (March 11), and got numerous volunteers. Henk Peeters also asked for volunteers to help with the Science Fair March Zachary Vallery, a senior at Healdsburg High is participating in a 24 Hour Fight to End Food Insecurity, and quite a number of Rotarians gave him pledges!

4 George Lawson, of the Sunrise Club, announced they are expanding their Wonder League program to include a music program for these special needs kids. He would like our club to partner with them, which seems like a great idea. Green Hair Day is coming up on St. Patrick s Day, March 17. Kate Buchanan will be helping Lynda Guthrie and Richard Norgrove in coordinating the event. It s time to start lining up your pledges!!! The form and flyer should be posted on the website soon. PP John Avakian encouraged everyone to participate in this really fun event. John Torres is organizing our Golf Tournament, which will be held June 11. The cost will be $100 pp, and includes a BBQ and refreshments. All members are welcome to come to this important fundraiser. Jerry Ogden encouraged us to send get well cards to our Sunshine person, Gloria Egger, who is recovering from hip surgery. Artie Stein announced the Relay for Life is coming up May The Easter Egg Hunt, led by our very own Easter Bunny, Kent Mitchell, will be on March 26. The District Training Assembly will be April 9 in Ukiah. Our SCARC dinner will be April 28. Please plan to attend!

5 RECOGNITION Wally Schultz presented Roger Olson with his second Paul Harris award. Wally Schultz also presented George Heath with his Paul Harris award. Prez John recognized Kent Mitchell for his work on the half page ad in the Healdsburg Tribune regarding our Crab Feast. Prez John recognized John Torres for his role in member sponsorship, and presented him with a circle for his Rotary pin. Prez John recognized Gloria Egger and Patti Mannatt for planning the Valentines lunch, which was a great success! Dave Anderson was recognized by Prez John for planning the Porchetta Feed. PROGRAM Tom Colbert introduced today s speaker, Cyrus Wind Dancer, whose topic was clocks. He is a classically trained clock maker. He has a clock repair shop in Santa Rosa. He brought in a variety of antique clocks, going back to the 1820 s, each with its own story. He showed us a 1874 Gale Astronomical Calendar Clock with dials that reflect not only the phases of the moon and the date, but also the time of each day s sunrise and sunset. He also displayed a clock made completely out of wood. The

6 first clock makers in the US were immigrants. The first clocks used weights, later springs were used. He pointed out that there are very few things from 1830 that can still function in RAFFLE: Tom Billeter had the winning ticket but not the winning marble. He did receive a lovely bottle of Bertapelle wine! CLOSING: Prez John thanked visitors and guests for coming and rang the bell. NEXT MEETING: Andy Cohen on 3D printing.
