30 Frequently Asked Questions Is there a cost to play? The majority of our Sport programs are FREE to current UTM students! For Campus Rec, students pay a $50.00 team deposit. Show up to all games & this money is refunded at the end of the season! For U of T Intramurals, it is completely FREE for UTM students! For D-League, players may have to purchase a team uniform. For Varsity, there is a Varsity fee to join which covers team apparel, travel expenses, medical coverage, etc. I noticed that a lot of leagues travel to other campuses to play. Do I have to find my own transportation? NO! All travel to and from games off-campus is arranged and covered by the Department. Where can I find the forms to enter a team? All forms, registration information, and handbooks can be found on our website at I love playing sports & want to join as many teams as I can! How many teams can I join in Campus Rec? We love sports too! However, there are certain eligibility guidelines students need to follow to participate. Participants can only play for one team per sport. For example, you can only play for one Coed Soccer team but can, however, play for one team in Coed Soccer and one team in Coed Ultimate. I don t have a team to enter, but really want to play in a Sports League. What can I do? Not to worry, we can definitely help you find a team! For joining Campus Rec, attend the sport s Team Entry Meeting and enter the league as a free agent. Teams looking for additional players will then select you to play. For U of T Intramurals, we do all the work in putting a team together! Simply attend one of the tryouts (more like sortouts as beginner players are welcome to join) and the Program Office will do the rest in getting the team going. What is the difference between Coed, Men s, Women s, and Open leagues? Good question! We offer many options when it comes to participating in a sports league, including coed and womens-only programs. Womens leagues are reserved solely for those who identify as a female. Mens leagues are for males, but women are also welcome to join. Coed leagues have rules surrounding how many males and females need to be in-play at a time. Open leagues are new to Campus Rec and have NO restrictions for how many males and females can be in-play at a time. 30

31 Fair Play Should be Everyone s 1st Priority! Everyone who uses our Fair Play Facility should: Demonstrate respect for all individuals Respect the facility in which you participate Share equipment, space, and facilities willingly Maintain self-control at all times Condemn violence and harassment in all forms Always attempt to contribute to the betterment of the UTM experience Players should compete to the best of their ability within the limits of the rules. All players will: Participate for the love and enjoyment of the game Respect the efforts and accomplishments of your opponents Respect their teammates and do their best to be a true team player Respect all players, coaches/captains, officials, spectators, and administrators Respect and play by the rules of the game 31
