1 Good afternoon! This web site will allow you to keep up with what s going on at Palmetto. Each week Palmetto Middle School is going to post a weekly update on this page. This site will keep you informed of upcoming events, trips, dates, projects, and holidays. Please ask around to see if other parents are checking this web page for the updates. Upcoming Events and Dates: Thursday, August 27 th - C-Team Football Scrimmage Wednesday, September 2 nd - Student Council Elections Saturday, September 5 th C-Team Volleyball Game Monday, September 7 th Labor Day Holiday- Students do not report to school Saturday, September 5 th - C-Team Powdersville Middle Tuesday, September 8 th - First Student Council Meeting Thursday, September 10 th Palmetto C-Team Football plays Belton at Belton. Monday, September 17 th, Palmetto C-Team Football plays Honea Path at home. Friday, September 25 th Fall Pictures will be made.

2 Monday, September 28 th Staff Development Students do not report to school. Wednesday, October 21 st, End of First Nine Weeks. Friday, October 30th, Staff Development Day Students do not report to school. Monday, November 2nd Fall Break Teachers and Students do not report to school. NEW Car Rider Information Middle school students with siblings at Palmetto High School will be able to meet their ride at the high school starting Monday, August 24. In order to insure the safety of our middle school students, we ask the older sibling to meet their brother/sister at the crosswalk and escort them to the vehicle. Middle school students are NOT to linger at nor enter Palmetto High School and should leave the premises immediately. Barry W. 4 Palmetto s Finest Updates Palmetto s Finest Cards get you in free to all C-Team HOME football games and front of the lunch line EVERYDAY! Palmetto s Finest Qualifications for the 1st Nine Weeks Please Mr. Knight at knightb@anderson1.k12.sc.us if you have any questions. To earn Palmetto's Finest you must meet the following criteria: 1) All grades 80's and above 2) No demerits for the nine week period 3) No more than 2 unexcused absences. 4) Complete community service hours 10 hours of service are required for the first quarter. Students simply record the hours they volunteer, the service they provided, and have the supervisor sign and record their phone number. Guidelines for hours 1. Ten hours of community service is required each nine weeks. 2. No more than four (4) hours of service can be directly related to any family member. 3. Completed service hours are due to your Homeroom teacher on the last day of the quarter. A minimum of ten hours of community service is required for each quarter of school.
