1 OF ARLINGTON OPTI VIEW VOLUME LXXI NUMBER 7 APRIL 2018 Spring is here and the Optimist Club is moving right along with the baseball season. We need lots and lots of help at Senter park in the concession stand, as an administrator, or just out there supporting our players and coaches. If you know anyone who still wants to play baseball please have them contact John ny Sudbury to get more information. I would like to congratulate everyone who participated in the North Texas Dis trict Oratorical contest that was held on Saturday, March 24th. Congratulations to the following winners who will be advancing to the next round. Girls Division: Boys Division: We will be holding our Board of Directors elections on Wednesday, April 25 starting at 6:30pm at J. Gilligan s. We will be holding our elections a little differently this year. We will be voting on the president elect and directors at this upcoming election. We will vote on vice presidents and sergeant at arms in August. If you are interested in getting more involved with the club please consider running for one of these positions. We would love your voice to help us keep growing. I would also like to highlight an event coming up in May that we will be partnering with the other Optimist Clubs in the North Texas District to make Birthday Bags for Homeless Children. The donations will go to children right here in North Texas. There are over 7,000 homeless kids in Tarrant County alone. Please consider helping with this project by either donating supplies or monetary donations for supplies. There is a flyer towards the end of this newsletter with more information. If you have any questions please don t hesitate to reach out to me. Cheryl Erickson PRESIDENT Meeting on Second Wednesday 6:30pm Published Mid-Monthly by the Optimist Club of Arlington J.
