1 Today is day two of class competition for Homecoming week. Teachers at this time, please tally by grade the number of students wearing Jerseys or some type of sports attire. Just reply to Mrs. Morris . The Freshmen won Friday with 95, Seniors were 2 nd with 82, Sophomores had 67 and Juniors were last with 50. Plus we had 17 teachers wearing Pink on Friday. Tomorrow is crazy sock day. Remember, it all adds up and despite what you may think seniors do NOT always win Homecoming. Today we will have three schools visiting our campus - The University of Texas in Austin, Iowa State University and the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Visiting with reps and checking out their ideas is a good thing. Join the Robotics Club. They meet at Creekwood Middle in Mr Cage s room from3-6pm every Monday thru Thursday. The first clue for this week s Mystery Mustang is: She was born in South Carolina, moved to Wisconsin, then New York, and finally to Kingwood. Vote for your grade s Homecoming Court online! Go to the KHS Website and just follow the link. Vote for the faculty court for Homecoming at all lunches. The winners will be determined by how much money is donated in their box. Mr. Scalia is leading the men by $40 and Mrs. Scalia is winning for the ladies by $13. Donations go to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
2 The Criminal Justice Club meets today from 3-4 PM in room FFA is selling wristbands to help feed the children of Houston. Support the cause by purchasing a "Feed The Children" wristband for $5 during all lunches. By doing this, you will feed 20 kids in the Houston Area. If you signed up for Best Buddies please turn in your $20 dues to room 1013 by Friday Tickets for Shrek the Musical are on sale now. The show begins October 24 th, and tickets are going to go fast. All seats are reserved so get with your friends and family when you buy your tickets. Tickets for the musical are $20 and available online at Kingwoodtheatre.com and at the box office during all lunches. Spanish Club meets today after school in Señora Otsuka s room 4304 to plan for the wagon parade during the Pep Rally. Please bring your ideas and items to decorate. The KHS Swim Team opened up the season with the Atascocita Early Bird Invitational featuring 10 teams from Houston and Dallas. The Girls Team came home with a victory beating the second place team by over 200 points and the Boys Team placed second. Please check out the Daily announcement links on the website for the list of names and how well everyone did. Boys Cross Country won in all divisions at the Larry Gnatzig Invitational this weekend.
3 The Lady Mustang Cross Country Team had another winning weekend. The JV and Open Race teams also captured a win making it another Mustang Cross Country sweep. Volleyball won in 3 games on Friday at the Play for the Cure game. Football is now 5-0 with a victory over Dekaney Friday night. The Homecoming Game is this Thursday. Tennis is 6-0 in district and takes on Klein for the district championship on Tuesday here at KHS.
