27 COACHES RESPONSIBILITES: ALL COACHES MUST BE WITH THEIR TEAM FOR THE DURATION OF COMPETITION DAY: FROM ENTERING TO EXITING THE MMC AND ALL TIMES IN BETWEEN! ARRIVAL TIME: All rostered participants and their coaches must arrive via the Falcon Way entrance. IMPORTANT: You Must arrive as a team. Individual cheerleaders without their full team and coaches will not gain entrance alone! BUS DROP OFF/PICK UP: Buses will be permitted to drop all participants off at the Falcon Way entrance. Buses will then be directed to park elsewhere. IMPORTANT: If your team is returning home via buses, they will meet their bus at the Falcon Way entrance. REGISTRATION: Please stop at the registration table when you arrive at the facility to register your team. CHECKS: Each team is required to leave a $500 check that will be applied to your account at Nationals in the case that you have advanced forward. For those teams that are not advancing, your check will be given back to you the same day in your envelope along with your score sheets. ROUTINE COMMENTARY: A couple more things have come up regarding the videos. Please keep in mind for those teams that do get to advance to Nationals, you will have to this as well. They are working on the form now but at least you may be ahead of the game for what we are asking you to do now. Even if your team has a license, this is not for the videographer. We are under the license of the National office and they don't cover the videographer. It is extremely expensive for videographer to get a license not knowing the songs that all of you paid for. He would be charged $300 per song that is used during the entire day. This is a nightmare for us to control. THEREFORE, EVERYONE MUST PUT IN WRITING A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR PERFORMANCE ROUTINE. THINK OF HOW THEY DO ROUTINES IN THE OLYMPICS FOR SKATING. IF WE DON'T RECEIVE A COPY OF THIS DETAIL, YOUR TEAM WILL NOT BE VIDEO TAPED AT ALL. I have no idea who is doing the commentating. Ben at Varsity Media hired his own person. I don't know if they have cheerleading background or not. So, you need to be specific. If you would like to send a copy to me in advance, send it to karencheer28@gmail.com. Please have the coach leave a copy at the registration desk along with your $500 check. Please keep in mind that if you are sending them in to me via , don't send them the last day and expect me to have a copy. I will be busy working on other things. COACHES PASSES: You will receive your coach s passes at the registration table. ONE BAG PER TEAM: Each team is permitted one (1) bag per team. Everything your team needs must be within one bag. FOOD OR DRINK: Food and/or drinks are not permitted to be brought in the MMC. Only those participants whose registration forms note a medical need will be granted an exception to this rule. CHEER/DANCE PARTICIPANT SEATING: You and your team will be escorted to an area designated solely for participants. IMPORTANT: Only rostered personnel may gain entrance to this area! TEAM PHOTO: Team photos for qualifiers and finals. MUSIC PERSON: You must designate one person to handle the music for your team. Your music person must be a rostered personnel. This person will be directed to the DJ s table (after team photo, if applicable). IMPORTANT: It is greatly recommended the music person have more than one copy of the music with him/her! WARM-UP TIME: Each team will be given approximately 5-6 minutes on the warm-up mat. This time is used for stretching, tumbling, stunting and a quiet run through of their routine. There are two (2) mats in the warm-up area for team s use. COMPETITION MAT SET-UP: The mat is 54 x42 in size. The mat strips and straps will be set vertically, facing the judges. There will be an X in the middle of the mat. All participants will enter onto the mat from the back center (after warm-up). COACHES CORNER: The coaching staff of each team will be directed to the coaches corner (once the team has taken the floor) to watch their team s performance. COMPETITION BEGINS: The announcer will call the team to the mat. Example: Pope s Pride you may take the floor. Once the team is on the mat and set, he will announce their name for second time and say you may begin. This is their signal to begin: Example: Pope s Pride you may begin! THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

28 SPOTTERS/FLOOR JUDGES: Please make sure your participants are aware there are professionals spotters (3-4) on the mat during their performance. Also, there will be up to ten (10) chairs surrounding the mat with penalty/legality judges. CONCESSION STANDS: There will be concessions stands designated specifically for the participants and their coaches. Unfortunately, parents/guardians can not be allowed in this area. SUGGESTION: Have each cheerleader/dancer bring their money in a zip-loc bag with their name on it. Keep it in the team bag to be given to them after their performance or when they need it. AWARDS: Each team will line up behind their conference sign for the Parade of Champions. Please have two (2) members of each team and One (1) coach available to receive their trophy when they are awarded. Awards will be given out at the end of the Jr. Pee Wee and Pee Wee session for those respective teams. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE SCORE SHEET/CERTIFIED BOOKS: Please approach the head table at the end of the day and find your Conference Coordinator in order to receive your score sheets. If not available, please contact your Conference Coordinator to get them. PARTICIPANT PICK-UP: All cheerleaders/dancers not returning via bus at the end of their event will reunite with their parents/guardians in the main lobby (Main Street) of the MassMutual Center ABSENTEE FORMS: Any absentee forms must be left at the registration table and then turned over to the RCDC. The passes that are in the envelope are your coach s passes. You are getting the amount that is listed on your roster, up to 10. o If you re Association President and Association Cheer Coordinator were listed on the roster, then there is a pass for them. o If you have more than 1 team from the Association competing, then there will only be 1 pass for the Association Cheer Coordinator and/or Association President. If this is the case, then the passes for the Association President and Association Cheer Coordinator will be in the envelope for the first team that you have competing. o If you have more than 10 people counting the Association President and Association Cheer Coordinator, it is up to you to determine who gets the passes. Everyone else must purchase a ticket. o VERY IMPORTANT: If you are not on the roster, you will not be allowed to continue with the team. Anyone passed the registration table must have a wristband on and be on the roster. NO EXCEPTIONS. There is no order of performance in your envelope. o (Please print one off the website if you need one) We will allow the entire team to participate in the parade and the awards ceremony on the floor. Please make sure all kids are supervised by the coaches until the parents arrive. Check in for team is at the discretion of the coaching staff. Cheerleaders that are performing during the day and want to come in to watch the opposite session can do so as long as they come in as a team and must wear their uniforms. Coaches that have their wristbands can also come in early and watch the opposite session. -28-
