Contact the lodge office at or Diane at for more information A great month of activity is here, with one of my favorite holidays at the end of it; Halloween! October 1st starts off with the WOTM Salad Luncheon fundraiser. This fundraiser will benefit Moose charities. October 13th is the kid s movie night featuring the movie Hocus Pocus, the movie starts at 5:30 pm. sharp. October 14th will be Ladies movie matinée starting at 3:00 pm with Brides Maids followed by Snatched. October 15th will be our lodge roof fundraiser, pancake & porky breakfast for $10.00 all you can eat pancakes. Help us plug the leaks in our roof by coming down and having breakfast. October 21st is our 1st Moose Monster movie matinée. Matinee will start at 2:00 pm with Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein with more vintage horror movies after that. Your host for the afternoon will be our Green Ghoulie, Brian Vergenz. October 28th will the joint kid s and adult Halloween parties. Kid s event will start at noon till 2 pm, the adult event will start at 7:00 pm with the band Relativity supplying us with the music entertainment. Our very own locally renowned Basement Spook House will be open for both events. November will start out on the 4th with a Quarter auction starting off at 5:30 pm, and we will be having a Veteran s Celebration on the 11th starting at 1:00 pm. Retention week will be from the November 5th through the 11th. We will be calling our expired members to get them to come back. The whole month of October is our endowment cradle fundraiser. Put your name on a cradle poster and help us raise more money than the WOTM. That s right Joe and Chris have a challenge going as to who can raise the most money for the kids at Mooseheart. So whoever you want to support, the real winners will be our kids at Mooseheart. Let s have fun with this one! Don't forget your Moose membership card will get you in the door at all 1500 lodges in the United States. That's right you can go to any of them whenever you want. So the next time you're traveling, remember to look up our brothers and sisters in all the lodges across the U.S. Fraternally Yours, Rich Smart, Administrator
2 2 NEWS FROM YOUR GOVERNOR Good Morrow, Fellow Moosers! Fall is by far my favorite time of year - fall foliage, crisp air, and, perhaps most exciting of them all, FOOTBALL! Our Packer Parties are in full swing, so be sure to come by on game day for some savory food, cheerful libations, and, as always, raffles with fun prizes! I recently attended the Annual Moose People Convention and it was another amazing learning opportunity and a lot of fun. We were able to talk with many inspiring people and collaborate on some new ideas for our beloved Moose Lodge. More to come! In other news, our Cradle fundraiser is coming up on October 1st. I've got a friendly bet going with the Senior Regent Chris Schneider, so make your donations and help me out, guys! The Pancake and Porky breakfast for our roof fundraiser is on October 15th this year. Stop by and enjoy some pancake stacks for a great cause. Last, but certainly not least, our Haunted House and Halloween Party is on October 28th! Bring the kiddos and enjoy some good old fashioned family fun. Goblins and ghosts and ghouls, oh my! We always have such a great time putting this one on, so be sure not to miss it. We're having a great year so far - let's keep up the good (and fun) work. 5 Hello Co-Workers NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT 5 Fall is upon us and the Kenosha Lodge is already planning many great events that will be taking place for the holiday seasons. Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas & New Years are just a few. SAVE THE DATES: Kids & Adult Halloween party 10/28, Kids Christmas party 12/9, College of Regents Cookie Sale, Tree Lighting at Moose Heart on 12/2, Craft Fair 3/10/2018, there is a plan for the traditional New Year s Eve party with the band The Classics in the back hall on 12/31 watch for flyer's around the lodge for more event information. Kitchen clean-up will be held on 8AM. Requesting for volunteers to help out for a few hours and it would be greatly appreciated! CONGRATS TO: our co-worker Elizabeth (Beth) Stoyer for being nominated the October Volunteer of the month. She always goes over and above to help at our Kenosha lodge. Thank you for all you do! VOLUNTEERS are always needed at the lodge for many areas including: Wed.-Bingo (kitchen help, floor walkers & snack bar), Friday/Saturday event nights (if you would like to see an event take place, please contact any board member) and also we need Door Greeter s on Friday nights. October is ENDOWMENT CRADLE fundraising month ladies will sign their name to a PINK square (located behind the bar) make a suggested donation to the fund. Governor Joe has challenged me on who can raise the most donations (men or women) and of course I replied Game On! November is membership retention week. We are already making plans to make this week a great event more information to follow. Mid-Year conference was held in Fond du Lac, WI and all who attended enjoyed what was presented to us. The women had a great time fund raising for Moose Charities, learning to keep positive at our great lodges and always be prepared for change. It was also presented to give generously to the Hurricane victims, and it would be safe giving donations to Salvation Army. Moosehaven in Florida lost their pier from the storm but the campus just needed some clean up. If you see a few more fundraising events going on in our lodge it is probably due to helping to raise $ for the storm areas of Moose. And your $ donations are very much appreciated!
