With the blessing of Erin s parents and family, we hold this tournament namedd in her memory for JV (5 th -6 th grade) teams in thee region. This year, we will again honor the memoryy of Miss Mary Pat McParland, who initiated this tournament, with the Heart of a Champion Award. Donations of canned pop, sports drinks, water would be appreciated. It s not too late to sign up too helpp with concession, admissions, t-shirt booth, or 50/50.

2 Saint Michael School Steak Dinner CLASS DOJO St. Michael School Steak Dinner will be held on Saturday, February 4 in Lateran Hall. Dinner willl be served from 5:00-8:00PM. Take-out orders are available. Enjoy an 8 oz. locally raised black Angus steak, baked potato, vegetable, bread, and salad bar, wine, soft drinks, and desserts. SMS Cheerleading Competition The SMS Cheerleaders are sponsoring their annual competition on Saturday, February 18 at Kennedyy Catholic High School. During thee month of December, we raised money to purchasee ten wreaths for the Wreaths across America project to honor our deceased military. Students alsoo supported the Christmas Jar project and raised $4000 for the Pink Angels Foundation. *Of our Cheerleaders and Pep Squad for cheering inn the Greenville Christmas Parade. *Of Grades K 5, along with the band and choir, for the Christmas program.

ATTENDANCE and TRUANCY IT S the PA LAW - Any student that misses more than 10 days of school is required to present a doctor s excusee for all subsequent absences for them to be considered excused. SMS is required to report unexcused absences. Inclement Weather With weather delays and cancellations already happening, please be advised that Saint Michael School will make an independent decision on whether to delay or cancel school. This is not decided by our surrounding public schools. Parents will be notified through our Blackboard Alert system, KDKA TV, and on the Youngstown TV channels and Channel 12 in Erie. If you do not get thesee channels or the Blackboard Alert system, please notify the school office. BOOT and COAT REMINDER A reminder that the only outerwearr permitted during the school day is the SMS fleece jacket by SchoolBelles or Kathy s Kreations and the white or navy cardigan sweater. Students are to bring shoess to change in to. Boots are not to be worn in the classroom. 6 10 TH ANNUAL ST. MICHAEL CHEERLEADING COMPETITION January 2017 Dear Friends, We are writing to ask for your contribution to our annual Cheerleading Competition. Your generosity allows St. Michael School to continue to offer excellent athletic and academic opportunities to our students and those that visit our gymnasium each year. The 10 th Annual St. Michael Cheerleading Competition has been slated for Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage. The tournament is continuing to grow as we host teams from Youngstown, Erie, and Pittsburgh, as well as, our local region at the elementary, middle and highh school levels. We are asking for your generosity in the form of a monetary donation from businesses that did not support dual ads for the Erin Scullin Basketballl Tournament/Cheer Competition. Please think of how you can contribute to our tournaments that offer a wonderful opportunity for athletes in our region to showcase their talents.
