2 2 A d m i n i s t r a t o r Dear Brothers and Coworkers; Schools should be getting started and it seems to mark the end of summer, but its the beginning for us! Hopefully you will get this before the Labor Day Picnic and come out and enjoy. It is always a good time. With the monies made from our last few projects we were able to donate $ to Project Life Saver. Project Life Saver gives the local authorities the ability to track a lost senior or child. The Police give the bracelets free but the trackers are very expensive so I am thrilled that we were able to help these folks out. Thank you Jerry for leading these fund raisers for this worth while project. The last quarter we were able to d0nate $ to the Summer Special Olympics as well as had members volunteering at their event. Thank you Rusty for heading this up. Brothers and Coworkers we could not help our community or Moose Charities without your membership and volunteer hours. We thank you all for what you do for our Fraternity. The Fellowship is holding a huge fund raiser on September 24th in the Bottom with the Embers! Food Trucks will be available and of course Moose Milk will be available for purchase as well. This should be a great event! I hope to see you at the Lodge Home, come out and meet your old friends and make new ones! Someone said it best, all of us are connected, each Lodge, Chapter, Fellowship and Moose Legion for the love of our Fraternity, Community and all that we do to leave a foot print in this world. I like to say we are one huge family maybe a little dysfunctional at times, but all families are and if you ever doubt that the next time you travel visit the Local Moose Lodge I promise you will be welcome. Fraternally, Tim Rea, Administrator M e m b e r s h i p R e t e n t i o n Dear Brothers; I want to welcome all our new members that have joined since May. This month we welcome Patrick Poe sponsored by Bill Westmoreland. If you see Patrick in the Lodge, please welcome him, as a matter of fact if you see a face and you do not know who it is, introduce yourself! Its easy to do and a great way to meet members and make them feel welcome in our Lodge Home. Thank you always for your support. Fraternally, Don Carwile,
3 3 G o v e r n o r Dear Brothers and Coworkers: Well summer is coming to an end, so that means most schools are starting. When you are out and about be mindful of the school zones and more children on our roadways. Please keep an eye on them and stay alert. September is here and we have a busy time ahead. Our annual Labor Day Picnic will be September 4th starting at noon. Please come out and enjoy the food and fellowship while supporting our lodge. Also as I m sure you have all heard by now, The Embers will be playing in the Bottom On September 24th from 2 till 5. Opening for the Embers from 12 noon till 2 will be our own D.J Tim Wade. This is one event you will not want to miss. Proudly brought to you by Lakeside Fellowship Committee. Our Moose of the Month of September is Wayne King. Thank you for your help around the lodge. Enjoy your parking space. Fraternally, Leo Wilkinson Governor M o o s e l e g i o n Dear Brother Moose Legionnaires, I hope everyone has had a good summer because now it s back to school and the nice cool weather about to come back. It s also time for our Annual Labor Day Picnic, hosted by your Moose Legion. Our final picnic of the year. Again it will be from 12:00-6:00 pm and it s on Monday Sept. 4 th in the bottom. If weather prevails we will still have it but inside. DJ Sherry will be playing your favorite music as well as letting you sing your favorite karaoke songs. We will be having a special Pull Tab game for our Electric Cruisin Cooler on top of our regular pull tab games. We will be needing volunteers again to help with the food and drinks. Hopefully we will have a great day like we have had for the rest of the picnics this year. Our next big event will be the Fall Celebration that we will be hosting the first weekend in October at our lodge. This should be a lot of fun because the 148 will be hosting the Shrimp and Suds that weekend during the Fall Celebration. More details coming this month. Our next Moose Legion Meeting will be on Thursday Sept. 7 th at 7:00 pm with social time starting at 6:30 pm. Tim Scarbrough Lakeside Moose 1714 Moose Legion Chairman
