1 St Louis Imperial Dance Club The Original Imperial Dance Club in St. Louis Swingin Times Third Quarter 2016 July-August-September It is hard to believe that we are now in third quarter of So much going on in this quarter and for the rest of the year. For SLIDC's July Dance we are honored to have the owner's (Stan and Mary Collins) of U Can Dance to provide our workshop (ballroom) and also Stan and Mary's troupe will perform for us. So don't miss this. Last year when they taught for us we had a pretty good size class and everyone seemed to enjoy it, as well as, the demo. We are certainly looking forward to this. The theme for this dance is Red, Hot and Blues and our DJ will be Harold Martin. In this quarter, SLIDC will be celebrating our 43rd anniversary. Again, we are the original swing dance club in the St. Louis area so we hope that the dance community will come out and help us celebrate. Included in this issue of our newsletter is a flyer for the Midwest Swing Dance Federation's Mega Dance Package Raffle. The tickets will be $5 for one or $40 for 10. Tickets will be sold up until the Hall of Fame Dance and the Federation's NYE dance until 9PM. The drawing will be at 10PM. There will be only one winner. The winner can transfer a complete club package to one other person, and this is a one time transfer only. The club of said transfer will be notified of the new owner of the club package. The one time transfer must be made by February 15, You need not be present to win. Included in this newsletter is the flyer for New Year's Eve, I know we are in the early part of our third quarter, but three of the tables have been sold - Table 17, Table 9, Table 37. We would also like to welcome George Scott to the board of SLIDC. George brings a lot of experience to our board, especially as a dance instructor. Again, I ask that everyone be patient with SLIDC, we are in the process of the creation and updating of our new website. Our club would like to express our sympathies to two families of members of the dance community. In early June, Clarence Hugh Hughes was fatally injured in a car accident in southeastern North Dakota. And most recently, we learned of the passing of Robert Bob Rigney of Smithton, IL. Rest in Peace, Hugh and Bob you will be missed. Keep on Dancing Judy SLIDC Board Members for 2016 President Judy Ciaramitaro Vice President Rusty Sullivan Treasurer Boyd Brown Secretary Rusty Sullivan (Acting) Large Mary Zeilmann Large, Anita Feldman Large, George Scott, Large - Tommy Nolan Dance Director Jan Altman Our Monthly Dances are held at: U Can Dance Studio 3570 Adie Road St. Ann, MO Weekly Dances are at the Sports Café 3579 Pennridge Dr. Bridgeton, MO on Wednesday evenings Website:
