3 PROFESSIONAL AND EXPERIENCED TEACHERS Shelley Heathcote and Ron Heathcote, have been performing and teaching in the dance and entertainment industries for over 30 years. They are both at the top of their field of expertise and belong to a handful of exclusive and most experienced professional teachers in the region. Shelley Heathcote has an extensive dance background which covers 30 years of study and teaching in a wide spectrum of dance styles. Classical Ballet (Royal Academy of Dance, British Ballet Organisation and Australian Institute of Classical dance syllabus). Jazz dance styles including Cabaret, New York jazz Modern Dance, Contemporary and Expressive Tap dance Hip Hop styles Shelley Heathcote is a teaching member of the Australian Institute of Classical Dance and enjoys adjudicating dance eisteddfods and talents competitions throughout Australia. Over the years her career has included performances, choreography and guest workshop appearances in many forms of entertainment including Hollywood Movies, television shows, concerts, advertisements and promotional work. Her unique versatility as a dancer and choreographer has lead her to perform in many countries around the world including: Japan, New Zealand, India, United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, U.S.A. Ron Heathcote has a dance background which spans 30 years of teaching and performing and he heads the Hip Hop and Breakdancing section of Breakaway Dancers. His specialities are the American Hip Hop styles which include: Breakdancing (popping, locking, jamming and BBoying), New Jack Swing, Afro Funk and New York Jazz. Over the years Ron Heathcote has performed with many Australian and International acts and solo artists in live concerts and stageshows. He has enormous and vast experience in the entertainment industry and has performed, choreographed and directed music videos, television programmes and commercials, domestic and Hollywood movies, short films, magazine shoots and promotional work. Students will discover and learn to love the art of ballet and modern dance through an interesting and inspiring program designed by Breakaway Dancers. 9 Xtreme Dance Team 7yrs and over $120 Term (10 weeks) Students who show passion about their dancing have the wonderful opportunity to join our special Performance group called the Xtreme Dance Team. Dancers will have the wonderful opportunity to perform not only at our end of year Concert but also throughout the year at special events such as: Concerts / Exhibitions / Fetes / Fundraisers / Showcases / Charity Events etc Xtreme Dance Team aims to promote: team-work, confidence, stage presentation, commitment and leadership. 11 CLASS FEES POLICY Breakaway Dancers have a policy of set payments for all tuition. WEEKLY PAYMENTS are Term fees broken up into weekly instalments due every week of term. Only offered with Princess dancers, Girlstarz and Superstarz who do all 3 Superstarz classes. TERM FEES are payable in advance (non-refundable). CONCERTS Breakaway have ONE annual end of year Concert. Our costumes are hired to you, making our concerts more AFFORDABLE! We also provide a TOTAL cost (costumes, rehearsals etc) well ahead of time, NO HIDDEN costs. And the BEST part, NO SEWING AT ALL for parents!!! All students participating in the Concert will be presented with a special Concert Award for their hard efforts! OPEN WEEK The last week of Term 1 is our special OPEN WEEK where parents are invited to view the amazing progress that all students have made in the first term! Page 11
