Map of school is at end of newsletter TUES. 23RD & WED. 24 TH JANUARY The Studio Shop & Office will reopen 2.30 to 5.30.pm for shoes & Uniforms and paying fees. MON. 29 TH JANUARY 2018 The balance of fees are payable. (Discounts will not be allowed for fees received after this date.) Please ensure you allow at least 2 working days for Internet payments. MON 29TH JANUARY st Term Classes start. Enrolments 2018 INVOICES FOR 2018 are being sent now so that you can check that we have you enrolled correctly as class times and term dates are on the invoice, IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE AN INVOICE you are NOT ENROLLED. If we are mistaken, please contact us A.S.A.P. This INVOICE IS NOT DUE UNTIL 29 th JANUARY 2018 (the Studio shop & Office will be open Tuesday 23rd & Wednesday 24 th from 2.30 to 5.30pm.) PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE ON YOUR INVOICE, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY If you are going to be absent at the beginning of the new term, OR for more than 2 lessons please notify us by , as after 2 lessons we will assume you have left. PLEASE DO NOT PHONE FOR THIS INFORMATION CONCERT TICKETS & DVD s are on sale now at CONCERT TICKETS: Please check with the timetable that you have purchased the correct show. Some shows have now sold out in the stalls. We have extra tickets in the balcony; please contact the office for more information. CAMERA S, VIDEO & DVD: Due to copyrights Videos & Cameras will NOT BE ALLOWED, the show will be stopped if any are used as we are liable to huge fines. We have hired a company who has appropriate licenses to do the filming. They use 2-3 cameras and the quality is excellent. DVD S will be ready for collection 1 st week back in 2018 from the Studio. All Students have been photographed in costume. CAR PARKING: There is parking in the school grounds see the Map in this newsletter FOOD: There will be a canteen with snacks, coffee & drinks for sale on concert days & at rehearsals BUT STUDENTS SHOULD BRING LUNCHES AS THERE IS NO CATERING SERVICE. CONCERT PHOTOS All Students have been photographed in costume. Your orders will be available to collect before each performance Or you may arrange to pick up from Elite Photographers FIRE, HEALTH & SAFETY RULES. PARENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED BACKSTAGE IN THE THEATRE UNLESS YOU ARE A CONFIRMED ROSTERED HELPER only authorised people will be allowed backstage. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN. The doorkeeper will be acting under strict instructions not to allow any unauthorised entry. Those parents who received confirmation from us, will have their name on our roster will be able to go past the doorkeeper. We understand your concerns if this is your first time with us, we assure you that your child will be cared for and supervised at all times. The backstage helpers are briefed on all safety aspects and our teachers, student teachers, senior students and staff will be present. Should your child be unhappy we will page you to come back, so please relax and enjoy the show. 2

You may miss out on important information Studio News SAYERS PREMIER INTENSIVE PROGRAM (SPIP) commenced in 2015: This is for talented students who are invited to participate 2 mornings per week it is held at Sayers one morning & at Premier the other from 8.30 until 12. CERTIFICATE LEVEL 111 IN DANCE: Miss Nadine has done her accreditation so that our senior ballet students will be eligible for a Certificate Level 111 in Dance. NEW YORK, NEW YORK: Miss Nadine accompanied some Sayers students together with Premier Dance School on a dance tour of New York. They had an amazing trip and learned a lot by attending classes at Alvin Ailey, Joffrey, and Broadway & Steps Dance Centre s. As well as being able to go to Musicals and being tourists. IF AUDITIONING OUR PREFERRED COMPANY is BALLET THEATRE OF QUEENSLAND THE OLDEST BALLET COMPANY IN AUSTRALIA who take an ethical approach to students. BCYC IS NOT OUR PREFERRED JUNIOR BALLET COMPANY and students at Sayers should NOT audition for them. We have joined the growing list of teachers who have banned this company. 3

Kirrily Jackson Accepted into ED 5 Sydney and Conroy Performing Arts College in 2018 Charlotte Fraser-Rieck Accepted into QLD Academy of Creative Industries in 2018 Juliette Papamarkos- Accepted into ADPI Musical Theatre stream in 2018 Taylor Huston- Has been invited for the second year to join the QLD Ballet Associate Program, and will return to Sayers-Premier Intensive morning program in 2018 Claire Morrow, Zoe Gillespie and Mia O Byrne- Have been invited to join Sayers-Premier Intensive morning program in 2018 Alexandra Cramer- Continues to thrive at the Australian Ballet School, going into level 7 Natalie Pickering Graduates from Raw Dance' Ted Cooper- Currently at the Bolshoi ballet School Moscow. Ted is one of two students asked to perform in their end of year production of La fille Mal Gardee Carlos Badelles- Agito- will graduate from ED5 Sydney Laura Wood- Continues to travel the world dancing on Celebrity Cruises Megan O Shea- continues to travel around Australia playing Sandy in Grease the Musical. UNIFORM IS REQUIRED Grooming is part of the art of dance all students are required to wear our uniform which gives a sense of pride in belonging to our Dance Centre. We expect that hair is up off the face. The only exceptions being Toddler & Creative Dance where they are free to wear anything they want, we do sell a lovely Angelina Tutu for only $40. As well as our set uniform, in 2018 we will sell Onesies (in Pink or Black) and warm up booties. 4

Classical workshops will be with Chris Rickert, Chris was trained at Sayers and Danced with the Royal Danish Ballet for 10 years, and he will be a part of the Sayers Faculty in 2018.

Christmas Vouchers are available. Carlos was trained at Sayers and has spent the last 2 years in full time training at ED5 in Sydney. Ballet Workshops: am: Ballet grade 4 & am: Ballet grade 1, 2 & pm: Ballet Intermediate (2ndyear) Advanced pm: Ballet Interfoundation Intermediate (1styear) Jazz Workshops: am: Ages 6-9 years am: Ages years pm: Ballet Interfoundation Intermediate (1 st year) pm: Ballet Intermediate (2 nd year) Advanced Miss EJ will be available for Private lessons the week of Monday 15 th -19 th January, contact office if you are interested. Please Note: The last class at the Studio was on Saturday 25 th November. There will be no classes held at the studio during the last week. Except for Toddlers & Adults who will finish on the 28 th November.
