1 CAULFIELD FEBRUARY COURSE: TURF GRASS TRACK: UNKNOWN The first thing to note about these jumpouts is there are a number of horses just out there for a trot around. We are going to play with the format of these reviews over the coming weeks and hopefully come up with a suitable product. TRIAL 1 700M Bel Show Blue, White Star, Green Armbands, White Cap H Dwyer Delovely Yve Black R W Smerdon Devon Princess Pink M G Price I Am Invincible/Lady Lexus Lime R W Smerdon Khutulun Blue, White Circle & Armbands L Oliver Omarion Purple, White Moody Logo P G Moody Reset/Aranta Aquanita Blue, Black Cap R W Smerdon Tan Tat Diamond Blue, White Moody Logo, Blue Cap P G Moody KHUTULUN won the jump but was allowed to settle early. Had a very quiet trial. DEVON PRINCESS took up the running and was being pushed along about 400M from home but really picked up nicely and went to the line hard held. Nice trial and a filly who does possess early speed. Can be winning first up. I AM INVINCIBLE / LADY LEXUS showed some speed but weakened badly before being eased late. DELOVELY YVE was pushed along to make ground from the mid race point but picked up OK late. BEL SHOW settled towards the tail but loved the way she carried her head and worked to the line. 1

2 TRIAL 2 700M Everlasting Black, Orange Spots B Cozamanis Herstory Green, White Moody Logo P G Moody Mastercraftsman/Gin D'Arctic Lime, Green Cap, White Saddleblanket R W Smerdon Maysoor Gold M G Price Needed White, Blue Moody Logo P G Moody Tale Of The Cat/Belolly Aquanita Blue, Black Cap R W Smerdon War Point Pink M G Price NEEDED jumped nicely and settled very comfortably just off the speed. Struggled when the heat went on and was ridden out. WAR POINT showed good speed although was urged to do so. Was given a crack with the persuader but did respond nicely and displayed a good turn of foot. Trialled at Cranbourne on 24 th Feb so will be interested to see what he did there. EVERLASTING made a sustained run out wide but peaked about 100M from home. Both TALE OF THE CAT / BELOLLY and MASTERCRAFTSMAN / GIN D ARCTIC had very quiet trials and looked good. TRIAL 3 700M Elusive City/Beautiful Unicorn Black R W Smerdon Encosta De Lago/Maddelena Pink M G Price House Of Hingis Blue, White Moody Logo, Red Cap P G Moody Pentire/My Guardian Blue, White Circle & Armbands L Oliver Savabeel/Lisa Anne Lime R W Smerdon When Love Is Gone Black, Orange Spots B Cozamanis Only two horses with names. Time was solid. HOUSE OF HINGIS jumped well and was allowed to settle outside the leader. She looked really good in her action and clearly had the better of the leader in spite of being eased late and finishing second. She looks to have really come on from her one run in the Spring and will race well early this prep. 2

3 WHEN LOVE IS GONE eventually drove through to take the lead and travelled nicely through the early stages. Was pushed along late and battled over the last 50M. Won the trial, but wasn t convincing. The Price trained ENCOSTA DE LAGO / MADDELENA was doing its best work on the line and was good late. TRIAL 4 700M Ajmar Gold, Blue & White Quartered Cap M G Price Calm Under Fire Orange, Brown Diamonds R Hore-Lacy Duke Of Marmalade/Galileo's Choice Fluoro Yellow, White Cap R W Smerdon Dylan Thomas/Zoccoletta Black R W Smerdon Jewel Heist Red, White Moody Logo P G Moody Nicconi/McFlurry Silver R W Smerdon Tale Of The Cat/Outspoken Spirit Aquanita Blue R W Smerdon Time Thief/Bella Style Lime, Green Cap R W Smerdon TALE OF THE CAT / OUTSPOKEN SPIRIT showed nice tactical speed and looked extremely good in its work. We will try and keep an eye out for it on debut. TIME THIEF / BELLA STYLE led them up and showed good early dash. Travelled beautifully to the line and is another we will try and follow when named. TRIAL 5 700m Cryptic Lady Blue, White Spots, Red Sleeves C McDonald Draw Forward Pink M G Price Elite Elle Cerise, White Crossed Sashes & Armbands A J Vasil Enemy Of Average/Wild Ela Black, Purple Cap with White Star, Purple Pom Pom R W Smerdon Imoto Gold M G Price Office Bearer Purple, White Moody Logo P G Moody Sneak A Peek Blue, White Moody Logo P G Moody Vatican Black, Orange Spots B Cozamanis Nice heat in super time. ELITE ELLE showed its customary speed and really ran them along here and she had set up a 7L break before paddling a little late. Super time and she does go well fresh so keen to follow. VATICAN went OK out wide on the track and should improve off its first up effort. Still keen to follow next time. 3

4 OFFICE BEARER shared the lead early but was restrained when ELITE ELLE took off. Was pushed along late and was no match for VATICAN at that point, went poorly. TRIAL 6 700M Grandos Red, White Moody Logo, Black Cap P Moody Le Mans Orange M G Price Light Years Ahead Purple & Gold Diamonds, White Sleeves B J McCarthy Mahican Blue, White Moody Logo, Red Cap P G Moody Mumbeilly Green, White Moody Logo, Blue Cap P G Moody Reldas Lime, Green Cap R W Smerdon Seattleite Black, Light Blue Band & Sleeves J Moloney Tango's Daughter Pink, Black Cap, White Pom Pom M G Price TANGO S DAUGHTER jumped nicely and was allowed to find her feet early. She had a very quiet trial and went super. RELDAS showed good tactical speed and shared the lead early. He was challenged about 200M from home but was given a slight urging before really drawing away. Lovely trial and the run at MV has him peaked and ready to break through. MAHICAN made some late ground out wide on the track and was a typical Moody trial. Really liked the way MUMBEILLY went here. She hasn t raced for a while but looks to be in super order for her resumption to racing. Just jogged along behind the leaders and was able to stay in touch without any effort. Nice work. TRIAL 7 700M Bells Are Ringing Purple, Black & Silver Cap, Black Pom Pom P G Moody Caillebotte Pink M G Price Celeritas Cerise, White Crossed Sashes & Armbands A J Vasil Hill Spy Aquanita Blue, Black Cap R W Smerdon Pilly's Wish Gold M G Price Quest For Peace Blue, White Moody Logo, Blue Cap P G Moody Splash Of Moet White, Blue Moody Logo P G Moody Still Dark Blue, White Circle & Armbands L Oliver BELLS ARE RINGING had to be ridden out of the stalls to try and get on speed. Held on just behind the first three across the line but pretty ordinary. 4

5 SPLASH OF MOET easily found the front and travelled big time throughout. Outstanding bit of work and looked super. Has transferred to the Moody stable and looks to have grown a leg. CELERITAS went well after making a sustained run out wide. TRIAL 8 700M Bedisguised Green, White Moody Logo P G Moody Fascinating Choice Blue, White Moody Logo, Red Cap P G Moody Gaintlike Aquanita Blue, Black Cap R W Smerdon Gotta Love Darci Orange M G Price Miana Blue, White Spots, Red Sleeves C McDonald Praetorian Black, Light Blue Band & Sleeves J Moloney Stellarized Red, White Moody Logo P G Moody Wildebeast Gold M G Price BEDIGUISED jumped nicely but was allowed to find its feet and settled in a midfield position. Had a very quiet trial and no knock. WILDERBEAST was out to have a race and went OK, but was ridden aggressively. Won the trial but was tiring on the line. GOTTA LOVE DARCI showed speed and raced on pace but was left a little flat footed when the stablemate sprinted up. Got going after the line. FASCINATING CHOICE jumped on the bunny and settled third early. Copped a little interference and seemed to drop the bit at that point. Only got going late. Although it finished a long way from the leader s we really liked the work of STELLARIZED late. Got back to near enough last but was travelling beautifully approaching the line and making good ground. A horse looking for a mile and beyond but he is worth following once up in trip. TRIAL 9 700M Camarada Orange, Brown Diamonds R Hore-Lacy Kept Woman Purple, White Moody Logo P G Moody Light My Fire Green, White Moody Logo P G Moody Miss Beauty World Cerise, White Crossed Sashes & Armbands A J Vasil Pinsational Blue, White Moody Logo P G Moody Zabasto Pink M G Price 5

6 LIGHT MY FIRE jumped well and led momentarily before allowing a couple to go past. Had a very quiet trial late and worked well. CAMARADA took up the running after 150M or so and clearly had the better of the horse to its outside. Lovely trial. Really keen to follow this time in as has come back well. MISS BEAUTY WORLD went up to challenge CAMARADA over the last 300M but really was no match for that horse. Finished second and the first two did clear out a long way but was just ordinary. TRIAL M Classy Ruby Red, White Moody Logo P G Moody Darney Gub Black R W Smerdon Esteemed Elegance Purple, White Moody Logo P G Moody Highway Star Gold M G Price River Delta Green, White Moody Logo P G Moody Zadancer Blue, White Moody Logo P G Moody Zenithal Black, Light Blue Band & Sleeves J Moloney Good speed from ESTEEMED ELEGANCE who came over from a wide draw to lead. Had a quiet trial and went well enough. DARNEY GUB quickly settled up outside the leader and drew away with HIGHWAY STAR, clearly had the better of that horse and really pulled away after the line. Brilliant trial again. 6
