1 Female sitting dance with vocal accompaniment, Aceh CD572 Music transcribed by Helen Catanchin October 2011 CD572 Chapter 30, 22:02-25:27 (3:25 total) Notes: Musical accompaniment and dance motation for eight seated female dancers in Aceh, Indonesia, from scene recorded by Margaret Kartomi May The different melodic sections would be first sg by a solo vocalist who led the dancers in call-and-response. The dancers danced continuously during this excerpt, and sang in chorus after the leader's call. The tempo of the music and dance increased gradually between the tempo markings and was led by the vocal leader. The tempo would then sometimes suddenly increase in the first bars of the dancers' response in chorus (eg from 138bpm to 180bpm). This transcription includes the entire scene as recorded by MK.
