Act II Scene 1 The Hot Box Scene 2 The West Forties Scene 3 The Crap Game Scene 4 Off Broadway Scene 5 Interior of the Save-A-Soul Mission Scene 6 Near times Square Scene 7 Broadway Synopsis Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game. Bryan Ray Jackson was born October 20, 1963 to Velma Mitchell Jackson and Billie Ray Jackson in Atlanta, Texas. He departed this life on July 21, 2009 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. Bryan graduated from Atlanta High School in Atlanta, TX in He attended Texarkana Community College before moving to the Pacific Northwest. He received his AA degree from Columbia Basin College (CBC), Pasco, WA in He then attended Eastern Washington University where he graduated in 1994 with a BA in English and Theatre Arts. Bryan received his Masters of Arts degree in Theatre Production from Central Washington University in Bryan professed a love of God and faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and united with the St. John Missionary Divine Baptist Church in Kildare, TX where he sang in the Youth Choir. He later united with the First Baptist Church in Atlanta, TX where he continued to use his musical talents to praise the Lord. Bryan expressed the desire to become a high school teacher as early as the 10th grade. He pursued this dream by working as a teacher's aide with special needs children while attending CBC. His career continued when he joined Spokane School District 81 in 1990 and for the last 14 years has taught English and Drama, several of those years as head of the Drama Department, at Lewis and Clark High School. He also taught one season of extracurricular Theatre Arts at Ferris High School. Bryan had a special love for his work. He was essentially able to do his hobby as a job. Bryan had a passion for singing and performing. He was active in numerous plays with Columbia Basin College Theatre department and The Spokane Civic Theatre. He was president of the Onyx Theatre Troupe where he also directed and performed in many of their productions. Bryan was the president of the Washington Alliance for Theatre Education and had organized the WATE festival in Cheney, WA for performing students for many years.
