The PTA needs your help! Our annual holiday luncheon for the staff is on Tuesday, December 12th, and we need BAKERS and GIFT CARDS! Please consider donating some $10 gift cards to show the AMMS staff how much you appreciate them! Here are some popular gift cards teachers have enjoyed in the past: Target, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Amazon, Macy's, Publix/Kroger, Restaurants...GET CREATIVE!) Here is a link to sign up. DESSERTS Deliver to the front office on Tuesday, December 12th, before 9:30 a.m. GIFT CARDS Deliver between now and Monday, December 11th from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to the front office in an envelope marked to the attention of Teacher Luncheon. 2 Page 2 Parking Lot Protocol Dear Parents, Please use our designated parking spots when you visit our school for an hour or for just 30 seconds. It is a short walk. Parking next to the curb in the Fire Zone with signs posted is illegal and carries a fine of $ Also, it is potentially dangerous for our students, staff and visitors. Therefore, please always park in a designated parking spot even if you only plan to just run in for a minute. Thank you for your support. Please contact Officer Green with any questions at GreenSB@fultonschools.org. Please only use our car pool lane and the far parking lot for drop-off and pickup. Please do not drop your student off in the car pool parking lot. It is dangerous for students to be crossing while cars are attempting to park. Safety is always our concern at AMMS. Bus Reminder Please remind students that they need to be sure to take all of their belongings off the bus in the mornings when arriving at school. Please have them check for lunch boxes, musical instruments, cell phones and ipads.
3 Page 3 November Scholastic Book Order AMMS Little Free Library If you are interested in ordering books from the November Scholastic Book Order, pick up an order form from the AMMS Little Free Library. Orders are due to Mrs. Meredith in G103 by Monday, November 27th. All bonus books earned will be donated to the AMMS Little Free Library! Front Office Tidbit Did you know we need to have the first name, last name and grade of the student on notes that are turned into the office for attendance? This helps to correctly identify and adjust students attendance records. GIRLS AMMS Basketball Tryouts 7 th and 8 th graders ONLY, who have not failed more than one class the previous semester including Connections, may try out for girls basketball. ALL forms must be completed correctly and personally handed in to Coach Larson at school by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22nd. Do not wait until the last minute to turn in ALL forms if signature(s) and forms are missing, the student will be ineligible to tryout. Forms Although the season is quick, it is not to be taken lightly. In the short time that we have with our student athletes, we want them to become more prepared for their future academically and on the court. In high school it is necessary for student athletes to be committed, have good time management and be coachable. We want our players to take responsibility and balance all their commitments school being number one. We understand that a commitment a student athlete makes also is a commitment of the parent(s). We care about the player s development as student athletes knowing the demands will increase once in high school. If at any point players are not managing their commitments and meeting these expectations, they will lose playing time, not play or be excused from the team. Players are expected to attend ALL practices and games unless approved by the coach.
