Meurig has represented George Abbot School in the Surrey Schools Diving Competition (2015), awarded Silver; Surrey 3 metre Diving Competition (2015), awarded Silver; National Skills Competitions (Manchester, July 2016), placed sixth; Albatross Inter-Club Competition (Reading, 2015), awarded Gold; and, the 16th-18th White Rose National Competition where Meurig represented Surrey in the 13 years age group, coming second in the qualifying rounds and fourth place in the finals.

He is also participating in a Barcelona tour. Adam has passed the first selection phase for the County squad this year and has further selection trials. DOS SANTOS Fabio HICKS Alexander M 9M Fencing 02/06/2015 He competed in the British Youth Fencing Championships and won a place to represent South East of England in the finals in Sheffield. Took part in British School Team Championships and won a bronze medal for George Abbot. M 9Y Swimming 17/11/2014 Competed at County level. Has won multiple medals in ional championships and was most improved swimmer in squad. In top 50 swimmers Nationally JONES Sophie F 9M Skating 14/03/2014 Sophie is part of Skating ional Pathway Development team. ularly competes at National and International competitions. The competition season is just about to start for Fabio and he has high hopes for success In July 2015 he competed in the Open Water regionals. He is currently placed 1st in Surrey and 2nd in the ion. Performances this year have included several new Personal Best times and he will be travelling to the ional competition in March In September 2014 Sophie achieved No. 1 ranking for figure skating in the UK (under 15's Advanced Novice ). In November 2014 Sophie became British Champion (under 15's Advanced Novice). Sophie has been selected to represent Great Britain at the Challenge Cup, The Hague, Netherlands. In September 2015, Sophie Jones qualified at Junior level (Under 19 s) for the British Skating Championships, which will be taking place in the first week of December. Sophie will be the youngest competitor at this level in this year s British Championships. KIDD Isabel F 9W Gymnastic 10/07/2014 Gymnastics Isabel has recently competed in South East ional Competition where Isabel came third. She is hoping to qualify for the British team. PARKER Emily F 9E Drama - London production RUSSELL- MOORE Aoife 02/06/2015 Selected for role of Martha in the London production of The Railway Children. F 9C Running 25/02/2016 Nominated for cross-country running. Aoefie has run for Surrey for the past 2 years ( SE Schools Inter-Counties Championship (Chelmsford) and SE Schools Inter- Counties Championships (Tonbridge). She won bronze medals at
3 SPIRING Leo M 9A Drama - London production the Surrey Club Cross Country Championships and for the past two years has represented George Abbot School at the Guildford and Waverley districts cross-country race 02/06/2015 Selected for role of Henry in the London production of The Railway Children. Leo continues to study hard and participate in auditions. He is currently exploring an interest in television work STENNING Georgina F 9O Dance 19/10/2015 Georgina studies dance; she is working at Grade 3 Ballet and Grade 3 Modern Dance level. She has participated in Dance Festivals in Woking, Godalming, Guildford, Croydon, East Grinstead and Tudor Rose (Esher), where she has been variously placed first, second and third. Georgina has also performed in a professional production at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs). SULLIVAN Helena F 9C Synchronised Swimming 02/06/ Helena won the Hill Trophy to demonstrate sculling skill Helena and her team come third in multi-regional competitions. September 2014 Helena's team won gold in the South East ional Championships. December 2014 Helena and her team came 6th in the ASA National Synchronised Swimming Championships. Placed 3rd in Multi-regionals at the end of September and will be participating in Nationals at the end of November 2015 TINKER Ben M 9M Hockey-Surrey Lions 10/07/2014 Ben received his Honours Tie for representing Surrey in hockey and winning player of the season in 2013/2014. WILLIAMS Harry Ben has since been selected for ional hockey trials and is currently attending the Junior ional Performance Camp for the South of England. M 9F Badminton 10/03/2015 Plays Badminton at County level and has played Nationally. Harry has continued to compete at County level. As the season is just starting he is hopeful it will be a successful one for him.
4 YEAR 10 BARNES Patrick M 10G Judo 01/07/2013 Patrick is No. 1 in the United Kingdom and is currently training for the Olympics. He has not lost in any competitions this year and has been in the Great Britain squad for 3 years. BROOKES Zoe F 10F Cycling 25/02/2015 Zoe has had an excellent year competing in her chosen sport of cycling. She finished a very close second at the SE Area Road Race Championships and also took part in the Southern Qualifying Rounds for the National Track Championship. She finished in 5th place after the qualifying rounds and managed to qualify for the National Final at her first attempt. Zoe has finished the season ranked 7th in the national rankings. Zoe also took part in the 2015 European Youth Tour a 6-day stage race in Assen, The Netherlands. This is the largest youth cycling event in Europe. Zoe has greatly impressed the British Cycling Are coaches for her determination, skill and strength. Zoe trains 5/6 times per week. HOANG George M 10F Hockey 18/11/2013 In July 2013 George was selected for the England U13s National Ice Hockey team. He took part in a tournament in Canada in February KEARSEY Ben M 10Y Music 19/10/2015 Ben has been involved in the Surrey Advanced Brass Ensemble (SABE) for the last few years. He has performed at Farnham Maltings and the Charter Festival at Royal Holloway College. Ben has joined the Surrey County Jazz Orchestra and was a member of the South-West Jazz Youth Orchestra. In April 2015 George attended a tournament in Riga, Latvia and scored two goals. He was selected to play in the South West Conference in Sheffield at the beginning of May and later on he will be going back to Sheffield to attend the Nationals. He has been invited to attend the England Team Camp in August and should he get selected he will be representing England in LAWRENCE Kaitlin F 10G Athletics 10/07/2014 In September Kaitlin finished the season ranked third in Surrey. She is undertaking winter training and hopes to improve in the new season.
5 MEARS George M 100 Maths Challenge 02/06/2015 George has achieved an outstanding result in the Intermediate UK Maths Challenge. In round one he gained 94 points and certificates for Best in Year/ Best in School. He then took the Olympiad paper and achieved a Distinction and a medal - only the top 100 students in the country achieve this. MERLINI Anna F 10E Diving 01/07/2013 Anna is a member of the National Skills squad at Star Diving Club. She won a bronze medal at South East ional Skills and came 16th in the country at National Skills. She has also represented her school at Surrey Schools Championships. MIGUDA Henry M 10F Skiing 02/06/2015 Member of Sandown Park Ski Racing Club for the past three years. Came top 20 out of 100 in the Slalom in U14. Top 35 in GS out of 150 U14 and top 50 in Super G out of 300 U16 in British Ski Championships in France. NEWMAN Georgia She currently trains three times (6 hours) a week at the Spectrum with Star Diving Club. Recently at two competitions against divers from all over Great Britain she came 2nd. She is training to attend Nationals in Spring F 10E Rugby 10/07/2014 Georgia is in under 15's Girls London South East Division team for a second year. She plays for Surrey and trains at the local club Guildfordians. She will attend two training camps in Summer and is set to play matches in third division in Birmingham (Rugby Union) after the camps. Oliver Lucy F 10OP Dance 25/02/2016 Lucy spends twelve hours each week attending dance lessons. This increases when rehearsing for shows. She studies several genres of dance; modern, ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz, commercial and music theatre and has passed several examinations. Lucy holds Grade 5 Modern Theatre Dance, Grade 4 Tap Dance and Grade 4 Imperial Classical Ballet at either Distinction or high Merit. She is currently working towards her Intermediate Foundation Modern, Grade 5 Tap and Grade 5 Ballet awards. Lucy has taken part in several dance festival both individual and group categories with top 3 placements in all. She has taken part in three of Pasha Kovalev Dance Tours 2013 It s all About You; 2014 An evening with the Stars of Strictly Come Dancing; 2015 Live Through Dance performing at GLive and Dorking Halls. PARNELL Eden M 10MP Rowing 25/02/2016 Nominated for Rowing and Indoor Rowing. Eden trains 4/5 times per week on both the river and Eryos indoor rowing machine. He competes at National level through the Great Britain Indoor South of England competitions and also completes in Head trials (time
6 trials) and attas throughout the year. Eden has come second in the South of England competition for 3,000 m relay (indoors). He won the Molesey atta two-years in a row and came second and third in the 4 x 250 metres National Inter-Schools rowing competition. Eden was selected for the Surrey Schools Championships in 2016, but was unable to compete due to injury, but will be competing in ROWETT Ben M 10G Swimming 01/07/2013 Ben swims for Guildford City and competed twice this year at National level. Nominated for Rowing and Indoor Rowing. William trains 4/5 times per week on both the river and Eryos indoor rowing machine. He competes at National level through the Great Britain Indoor and South of England indoor competitions. William has completed the following competitions: South of England Indoor Relay 3km (2015), placed 2nd; South of England Indoor Individual 5 min (2016) placed 5th; B Indoor Individual 5 min (2015) placed 17th; GB Indoor Individual 500m (2015) placed 7th. William has come second in the South of England competition for 3,000 m relay (indoors). He won the Molesey atta two-years in a row (2014 and 2015) and came third in the Surrey Schools Individual 5min competition, and second in the Surrey Schools relay 4x 1.5 mins (2016). TODD Mia F 10O Gymnastics 19/10/2015 Mia has been competing at South-East County and ional gymnastics competitions. She scored the highest ever regional score in her age-group (9.2 out of 10) for floor work. WHLIE Hanna F 10G Hockey 25/02/2016 Hannah participates in the Surrey U15 Hockey Squad. She is one of the few George Abbot representatives for Hockey. Hannah has worked on improving her hockey skills at Guildford Hockey Club for the past four years, working her way from the B-Team through to the U-14 A-Team and has been invited to play in the Ladies team. She has attended two international tournaments in Barcelona in the past two years. Hannah is working with the George Abbot sports departments to form part of the new school Hockey Team.
7 YEAR 11 ARMITAGE Niamh F 11A Biathlon Niamh swims at National level and last year made it to the finals. She is aiming to compete in British Championships this time next year. BOND Finlay M 11W Ice hockey 10/07/2014 Played at County level and has competed in National Finals. Finlay now plays for Bracknell Bees U18. Last season he went to the Nationals with the U16s. They came 2nd. BURT Katy F 11W Horse Riding Katy joined the Pony Club at the age of 4 which she attended regularly, competing in rallies, training and competitions. She has competed at Hickstead. She was crowned champion at a Championship show. She aspires to reach Badminton. Unfortunately Katie's competition horse died at the end of During 2014 she bought a 5-year old thoroughbred horse that needs a lot of training. She trains her 5 or 6 days a week and she is making a good progress. Katie is teaching her how to jump and hopes to compete at the end of this year. In the meantime she has been competing on another horse called Bertie, including representing Pony Club at Hickstead where Katie and her horse achieved a double clear show jumping. Katie's first competition with Bertie was on where they will take part in Eventers Challenge at Coomberland Equestrian in Pulborough. DAVIES Katie F 11G Rugby 10/03/2015 Has been playing Ladies Rugby at County level for three years Katie has played rugby for Surrey Girls U15s for the last 3 seasons. She is now part of the London and South-East ional U15 Squad. EDWARDS Chloe F 11M Athletics 01/07/2013 In 2012 Chloe was ranked 4th in the high jump in Surrey and 49th Nationally. As a result of Winter County Sportshall Championships she was selected to represent Surrey in the National Final where she finished 12th in the high jump. ELPHICK Chloe F 11W Swimming 19/10/2015 Chloe has been swimming for Guildford City since she was nineyears old. She has participated in the Surrey County Championships and is currently 3 rd in Surrey for her 50 metre Butterfly. Chloe has been selected to swim in the National Arena League Team. FRANCE Lauren F 11F Basketball 20/03/2013 Lauren is a member of Surrey Rams basketball team and competes in the Surrey Central Venue League. Competed for Surrey and has represented the County. Chloe is continuing with her athletics training on a weekly basis. She will compete but not at a higher level. Chloe is beginning to train in pole vault. Lauren is currently playing in the Wessex Division while she continues to recover from injury. She hopes to play in the National League next season. Lauren still attends the ional Progression Centre every month.
8 HARRIS Jonathan M 11F Maths Challenge 17/11/2014 Represented school at National level in Mathematics Challenge, achieved a Merit. HOLMES Alicia F 11E Fencing 10/03/2015 Played basketball for Guildford Goldhawks for 3 years. Jonathan is studying Mathematics and Further Mathematics. He achieved Silver for the 2015 Intermediate Mathematics Challenge. He is aiming for A*s at GCSE. HOWELLS Grace F 11M Basketball 01/07/2013 Plays National League basketball for Guildford Goldhawks. Selected for elite sessions and attends South East ional Performance Training. MARTIN Louis M 11G Service 03/07/2013 In 2011 Louis campaigned for a Skate Park in his community. He had to present to Councillors and liaise with members of the community. Due to his hard work the skate park was agreed. MATRAVERS Alice In May 2014 Grace took part in an International Basketball tournament in Poland. The team came 5th out of 14 teams. Grace is continuing to play in National League basketball and hopes to play for South-East England in the future. The skate park that Louis campaigned for has now been built. If it is well used by the community there are plans to extend the park. F 11Y Cycling 03/07/2013 She has being selected by Great British Cycling Team for as one of the few apprentices being able to have world class coaching, in world class facilities such as the Olympic Velodrome and National Cycling centre in Manchester. Alice is one of the 100 people between the age of 15 and 16 across Great Britain and less than 10 girls in the southern regions of the UK, to be invited. PERRINS Kyle M 11G Rowing 25/02/2016 Kyle has be an active member of the George Abbot School indoor Rowing Club and also for Guildford Rowing Club Juniors. He regularly attends training sessions at Guildford Rowing Club and his fitness and strength has improved alongside his rowing technique. Kyle has been rowing since January 2014 and has won events at Molesey atta, Burway atta, Staines atta, Thames Valley Park atta, Maidenhead atta and the Ball Cup Competition. All these events are open events for all rowing schools and clubs to enter (the equivalent of national events in other sports) and mean rowers will include the likes of Eton College, Henley Rowing Club, Emmanuel School, Hampton Grammar School Nautical College Pangbourne and many more. Kyle competed in The British Indoor Rowing Championships held at the Olympic Velodrome where he finished third in the Country for Year 11 Boys and was awarded a Bronze Medal.
9 SHILSTON Laura F 11P Music 10/03/2015 Is a member of Surrey County Youth Wind Orchestra and spent 4 years with South West Surrey Youth Orchestra TAYLOR Sorcha F 11G Biathlon 01/03/2012 Biathlon-ional level Sorcha regularly competes at County level. VARLEY Imogen WARNER Barney WILLIAMS Samuel F 11P Music 10/03/2015 Is a member of Surrey County Youth Wind Orchestra and spent 5- years with South-West Surrey Youth Orchestra. M 11Y Music 17/04/2015 Barney composes his own music and remixes the work of other artists. He has been signed to a record label and has had his music played on Kane FM. M 11A Badminton 01/03/2012 Badminton County and ional level Surrey County U15 player in 2014/2015. In National tournament Sam was a quarter finalist against Berkshire and runner up against Essex.
10 YEAR 12 DAVIES Laura F 12M Triathlon 01/12/2012 Laura competed in South-East ional triathlon Championships in Tonbridge. Qualified Top 6. This made her eligible to represent the South-East in National Championships. GOLDSACK Tom M 12M Kayaking Community service JIN Robert M 12O National level in Maths Challenge KITCHENER Harry M 12M Tetrathlon - cross country, swimming, shooting, riding cross country 10/07/2014 Kayaking Tom has been on his first trip abroad to Belgium and this year hopes to get selected for both marathon and sprint trips, as well as attending training camps to aid his progression. Tom is part of the Great Britain Academy for Kayaking and has been following an intense winter training programme. This season Tom will compete in both sprint & marathon Nationals to progress his standings in the team. 17/11/2014 Represented school at National level in Mathematics Challenge, achieved Merit, awarded place at Oxford Summer School. 02/06/2015 Harry has competed for 8 years. In 2013 Harry was selected to represent South-East England at the ional Tetrathlon in Wales. The same year he won Area ll Junior Boys Champion. In 2014 Harry qualified to National Tetrathlon C hampionships at Bishop Burton College, Hull. Harry came 3rd nationally. Harry has now been invited to attend a Great Britain Tetrathlon training camp which acts as final selection for the Great Britain Squad who will compete internationally in Australia in August LEWIS Kitty F 12P Karate 01/03/2011 Karate-National & International Kitty has now achieved 8 National medals including 3 golds. She has become a teacher (Sensei) and currently runs classes of all ages and grades. Kitty has achieved her second Dan belt (two above black). She has won numerous regional medals and is currently working towards the World Cup in July. PRITCHARD Katie F 12A Ballet 01/03/2012 Katie changed dance schools to continue training with Julie Sianne Theatre Arts. She competes through the year as a soloist and in groups around the country in a hope to qualify for Nationals (semi - finals are in May and Finals in June). So far she has qualified for 4 out of 4 solos and all 5 groups and she is looking forward to competing in semis for a place in the finals.
11 ROTH Guy M 12E Gliding 01/07/2013 Guy undertook his first solo glider flight at the age of 14. This is believed to be a record. Guy has competed in an International Aerobatics Competition which he won. He is hoping to compete in many more competitions in the future. SMITH Jamie M 12P Sailing 20/03/2013 In 2013 Jamie finished 3rd at the RS Feva Championships and was the highest ranked British competitor. He and his crew became 2012 Junior World Champions. He is a member of the RYA National Junior Aquad. STEELE Abbie F 12A Ballet-England Youth Ballet 01/03/2012 Ballet-England Youth Ballet
12 YEAR 13 BROWN Emma F 13DPW Rowing 01/07/2013 Emma joined Guildford Rowing Club in She has competed in Winter Heads of The River races and Summer attas. She has won a silver medal at Eton Dorney's Ball Cup atta and has competed at National Schools atta. She is a member of GA rowing club. CROW Ellie F 13CSQ Football 20/03/2013 Ellie obtained a place in the U15 Surrey FA Player Development Centre. She is part of the Fast Elite Player Pathway and represents Surrey. DAVIES Matthew Emma continues to race in several disciplines. She trains several times a week. Emma has had several injuries which meant that she has had to scale down her rowing. She plans to continue rowing at University. M 13PDB Rugby 01/07/2011 Selected for Surrey U13 Development Squad Matthew played rugby for school and Old Guildfordians. He was involved in the Harlequins Developing Player Programme. He has played for London Broncos in their scholarship programme and last September received a two-year professional playing contract for the U19s. He also made an appearance for the senior team pre-season match when still only 16 years of age. DRY Hannah F 13KAM Swimming 01/11/2009 Hannah is still swimming and competing with Guildford City. She has started to compete in triathlons so now runs and cycles as well as swimming. FORBES Tudor M 13JR Rugby 01/07/2012 Played rugby for County Tudor plays rugby for Surrey at U18 level. He is planning to get to the South-East England rugby trials in December. GRIFFITHS Rose F 13AZC Swimming 01/11/2010 Swum at County and ional levels KATMEH Hannah F 13HLR Rowing 01/07/2013 Member of Guildford Rowing Club. Received a silver medal at the Ball Cup South. Has competed in the National schools Sculling Head and has competed at the National Rowing atta. 1st in Hammersmith and Thames Valley River atta. KING Rubens M 13AXS Swimming 01/11/2009 Swimming - County & National level Commonwealth Trials at Glasgow March 2014, where he narrowly missed out on 200m individual finals. Rubens tallied 8 national qualifying times. During National Championships held in Sheffield he participated in 3 semi-finals and 2 finals. In his best events : 200 IM, his personal best of was 4 seconds short of 1st place and 400 IM his personal best of was 3 seconds off the medal. He raced in the 17+ category (just turned 17) and came 3rd in 200 IM and 400 IM.

MURRELL Evelyn F 13JXH Squash 14/03/2014 Evelyn has played Squash since Year 7 and joined the Surrey Squad in Year 9. She has competed in the English Junior Championships and came 21st out of 32. OLIVER Jack M 12JXH Kayaking 20/03/2013 Jack has represented Wey Kayak Club at National level. SULLIVAN Poppy F 13PDB Rowing 3/14/2014 Poppy Sullivan is part of the GB 'start programme' and she has been coached at Guildford Rowing Club and she is hopeful to gain a place in the GB under 23 ladies squad. 1st place in Purley Open Tournament competed in British Championship - 21st place, in the ional team London & South East.
