COWBOY ACTION WINTER EVENT January 26 28, 2018 at Camp Gorton, Tyrone, NY Activities: - Double Barrel Shotgun - Lever Action Rifle - OK Corral - Cross Country Ski (weather permitting) - Revolvers - Dessert cook off This year's cooking competition will be cracker barrel style for Saturday night. This is open to anything that could be served at a cracker barrel. This does not have to be a cooked entry. There will be no pre-made food. All food will be prepared in camp at your cooking station. No kitchen privileges will be allowed. Cooking will be done in the fire pits at the various campsites, the camp's bar-b-que pit, or on camp stoves that your unit provides. Please provide your own charcoal if necessary. For judging the crew/ship may decorate or otherwise enhance the table where your entry will be served. Please supply an ingredient list or recipe to post on the table for people with allergies. All entries will be shared at the cracker barrel to follow the judging. Notes on the Event: All registrations include a bunk for the weekend. Sleeping Quarters will be spread over several cabins. Beds are first come, first served, based on Registration. Youth Protection Guidelines will be followed at Camp Gorton in all sleeping areas, bathroom facilities, and shower houses. The guidelines state that Males and Females will have separate sleeping quarters. Both youth and adults will be staying in cabins. Proper sleeping quarters will be set up and established for the arrival of the Venturers. The sleeping quarters will be separated by gender and broken into six groups: Youth Males (14-17) Youth Males (18-20) Youth Females (14-17) Youth Females (18-20) Adult Females (21+) Adult Males (21+) If you have any specific questions about the guidelines for Youth Protection please ryan.ross@scouting.org For those wishing to tent, there are platforms available.
