IF A CAMP IS FULL OR IS CANCELLED, IT WILL BE NOTED ON WEBSITE. 3. If a registration form is received for a cancelled camp, you will be notified. 4. The teaching staff, for the most part, is a composite of certificated teachers.they have contributed to the continued success of the Activities and Sports Camps Program. Activities are being offered at many Cherry Creek Schools. Activities and Sports Camps are open to all residents in the Metropolitan area (not restricted only to students in the Cherry Creek School District only).. Most camps will be offered from June, 2015 until August, We look forward to your participation. (Complete registration form and mail) NO: Drop off, On-line registration, faxing or ing forms. REGISTRATION BEGINS IMMEDIATELY. GRADES AND AGES SPECIFIED ARE SCHOOLYEAR (unless otherwise specified. You are encouraged to register as soon as possible, not waiting until the first day of camp. Class size is limited for many camps, although not always stated. Students waiting to register on the first day of camp may not be accepted if camp is full. To Register: 1. Complete one registration form for each student. 2. Enclose fees. Make checks payable to CHERRY CREEK SCHOOLS. (RETURNED CHECKS SUBJECT TO $30.00 FEE.) If paying by credit card, complete information at bottom of registration form. 3. Mail to address on form. LOCATION OF CAMPS Although camp may be under the heading of one school, camp may be held at another school or at a stadium. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF LOCATION. FULL CAMPS If a camp becomes full, it will be noted on the website. CANCELLED CAMPS If a camp is cancelled, it will be noted on the website. If registration form has been processed, you will be notified and a full refund will be issued. PAYMENT Full payment for camps is due with registration forms, either by check or credit card. Student pays full tuition, even if he/she cannot attend all days of camp.. REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY If the Summer Sports Office cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. If you must withdraw for any reason, a request must be made within a week after the camp begins. No refunds given if not notified in specified time period. You will be refunded your money, MINUS $25.00 per class. Refunds take approximately 4 weeks. TO CANCEL CALL (do not e mail request). IF YOU REGISTER FOR BOTH, THERE IS A REDUCED FEE AND A SEPARATE SESSION-SEE SESSION 3. Emphasis will be on building up endurance and the summer goal is to be able to run a 5K by the end of the camp. Great for those who are looking to stay in shape or get ready for their first season of cross country. Group 2: Advanced (13 years or over) This camp is for more advanced runners who are looking to improve their times. Emphasis will be placed on distance training and interval work to get experienced runners to the next level. 6 the tennis courts. PAGE 2 This course is designed for the more intermediate/advanced dancer with 3+ years of dance, going into grade 6-8. It will be taught by the girls on the current Cherry Creek Poms team and Varsity Coach. It is 3 days filled with technique in both pom and jazz, as well as learning a fun routine to share with parents on the last day. Geared toward the intermediate/advanced dancer who has mastered the following steps: double pirouette, toe touch, grande jettes, and basic pom technique. We will be working on mastering multiple turns, turns in second, advanced leaps and jumps, and much much more!! Please wear dance appropriate attire (shorts and a t-shirt are fine) as well as either jazz or tennis shoes. Bring a water bottle and snacks and light lunch THEATER CAMPS The Summer Theater Camps this summer will be located at 2 sites: Cherry Creek High School and Liberty Middle School., although the evening performances are held at Liberty Middle School. They are designed to give the participants an overall experience in theater. During the camp, students will audition, rehearse and perform a theatrical performance. The play will be selected specifically for each class to best fit the needs of the students. All evening performances are held at Liberty Middle School. Campers will expand their skills and knowledge of the game through proven techniques and fundamental training. Each participant should bring snacks, lunch and water bottle. MOUNTAIN BIKING CAMPUS MIDDLE SCHOOL If you have any questions about which level of riding is appropriate for you, please call Ray Vigil at A safety maintenance check from a bike shop is highly recommended in order to maximize riding time. Arrangements have been made with Treads Bicycle Outfitters ( ) at Iliff and Buckley, for a free safety check. If you show proof of participation in this camp (enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope), Treads Bicycle Outfitters will give, in addition to the free safety check, a complimentary patch kit and water bottle. Any additional labor may cost extra. **** AN ADULT (18 OR OVER) MUST ACCOMPANY THE STUDENT RIDER ON THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP TO SIGN A WAIVER. IF ADULT IS NOT THERE TO SIGN THE WAIVER, THE BIKER WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE. Any subsequent days-an adult does not need to accompany rider.l**** EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR BOTH CAMPS: Mountain bike, helmet and full water bottle. Keep in mind that all times and dates are subject to change-you will be notified of any changes; camps are open to both males and females; you meet the requirements for camp (age/grade/level of expertise). Game activities each session. Examples: dodgeball, basketball, volleyball, kickball, tag games, etc. STAY FIT AND HAVE FUN!! Wear gym clothes, shoes and Mountain Biking is one of the fastest growing outdoor activities in the country. Mountain Biking can help you be physically fit in an outdoor setting, while having fun at the same time. This class is intended to give people the chance to experience the great network of trails around Cherry Creek Reservoir. This class will teach bicycle safety and etiquette, as well as basic techniques of riding, trailside repairs, and basic bike maintenance. The best way to become a better cyclist is to get out and ride with others in a safe and supportive environment ADVANCED MOUNTAIN BIKING Open to: Boys and Girls, Grades 4-8 (Fall of 2015) Minimum of 10 bikers; maximum of 13 Instructor: Ray Vigil ( Cost: $ Dates: July Times: Noon-3:00 p.m.. FULL PADS REQUIRED, INCLUDING HELMET, shoulderpads, mouthpiece and all leg and hip pads. This camp is designed to teach full contact football fundamentals in a controlled setting, with 3 days of non-contact and contact football drills. Each day will consist of 1 hour of individual drills focusing on the fundamentals of blocking, tackling, ball handling and running, followed by 90 minutes of team oriented practice and scrimmages. Individual players will be placed on a grade appropriate team, and scrimmages will occur by grade level. Teams will be coached by Staff and Varsity players from all three high schools. Coaches of Youth Teams are not allowed to participate in the camp by AYL rules; however, they may watch and provide camp staff with any necessary materials for their team. OUR CAMPS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR TEAM BUILDING AND UNITY, AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL GROWTH.
