Group Stunts & Partner Stunts - Competition Rules and Regulations ELIGIBILITY Team members must have reached the age of 16 (sixteen) on the day of competition. Cheerleaders may compete in cheerleading, group stunts and partner stunts divisions. GENERAL RULES FOR BOTH DIVISIONS Under the IFC safety rules, the routine will consist of stunts. All stunts are limited to up to 2 layers and 2.5 high. Final awards will be decided BY TOTAL SCORES OF DAY 1 & 2. GROUP STUNTS - Competition Rules and Regulations 1. Number of performers All Female Teams must consist of 4 or 5 females. Mixed Teams must consist of 4 or 5 members. -If the team consists of 4 members, the maximum number of males is 2. -If the team consists of 5 members, the team should consist of 3 males and 2 females. However, if the teams would like to participate with 2 males and 3 females, the team should apply to the FJCA Championship Committee. 2. Competition area The competition area is 12m x 12m (twelve meters by twelve meters). 3. Routine time Each performance should be between 60 to 65 seconds. The entire routine should be performed with music. Page 1

The beginning and the Ending of the Routine The routine must begin within the marked competition area. All team members must start the routine with at least one foot on the ground. All team members must come to a complete standstill before beginning their routine. Timing will begin on the first note of the music, on the first movement, or when both feet of the top person leave the mat. Timing will end both on the last note of the music and the end of the last movement. *The finishing pose of a stunt can be considered as the end of the routine. In that case, the dismount from that stunt will not be regarded as part of the routine. Though teams are allowed to show spirit briefly to the crowd during entrance and exit, teams must not execute any skills before and/or after routine time. (No tumbling, jumps upon entrance & exiting) Teams must prepare for the performance as quickly as possible, and must also exit the floor immediately after the performance. 4. Routine elements All stunts are limited to up to 2 layers and 2.5 high. The routine must have the following stunts. Compulsory element Basket Toss Have at least 2 basket tosses in the routine. May be done in any aerial position, at anytime of the routine. May have transitions and other movement before / after the tosses. Note: All basket tosses must be caught in a cradle catch with two bases and a spotter. The routine must not have 2 separate partner stunts at the same time. As a special exception, 2 top people may pose on a stunt if it is on a single base stunt. e.g. Double cupie is OK. O Besides the special case above, the entire routine should have only one designated top person. (the top person should not take turn climbing during the routine.) The routine must not have pyramids. Page 2

The members must not execute jumps or tumbling unless these elements are part of building a stunt. e.g. Rewind (flip/somersault into stunts) is OK Backward handspring landing and directly jumping into a cradle/stunt is OK Backward handspring landing stopping the movement once and going into a stunt is NOT OK The routine must not have dance, cheer, or sideline. (Cheerleaders may yell the words or execute arm motions only for the pose position.) Props are not allowed. Page 3

PARTNER STUNTS - Competition Rules and Regulations 1. Number of performers Team should consist of one male and one female. In addition, teams are to provide a male spotter. 2. Competition area The competition area is 12m x 12m. A penalty of 2 (two) points will be deducted from the final score for each violation. 3. Routine time Each performance should be between 55 to 60 seconds. The entire routine should be performed with music. The beginning and the ending of the routine The routine must begin within the marked competition area. All team members must start the routine with at least one foot on the ground. All team members must come to a complete standstill before beginning their routine. Timing will begin on the first note of the music, or the first movement, or when both feet of the top person leave the mat. 4. Routine elements Teams should make the routine by following the IFC safety rule. The routine must have the following stunts; Compulsory element Twist Dismount from Extension Heel Stretch Have at least 1 Twist Dismount from Extension Heel stretch in any part of the routine. Top person may climb up to the extension heel stretch by any climbing skill. Top person may dismount with full twisting or double twisting skill. Note: In case of top person dismounts with 2 (two) twists, top person must be caught in a cradle with original base and additional spotter. Page 4

5. Spotter In addition to the team spotter, a competition spotter will be provided during the rehearsal and the competition. The team spotter may not assist any part of the routine besides cradle catching. -Team spotter must cradle catch when the top person dismounts in a double twist or forward flip. -Team spotter may not assist in further transition after the cradle catching. If the team spotter would assist a stunt in any other way, the stunt would be regarded as failure and would therefore receive the following deductions: -1.0 point: assisting after the completion of a stunt -1.5 points: assisting before the completion of a stunt If the team spotter would assist the climbing in any way, the team would be regarded as incapable of climbing the stunt; therefore would receive a deduction of -1.5 points.
