1 GRIGGSVILLE - PERRY ELEMENTARY & HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS A DAY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16 th, 2016 Culver-Stockton Admissions will be here today during first homeroom in Mrs. Sheehan's room. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend. There will be a senior class meeting at 7:50 in the morning to finalize Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday. Please let Mr. Apps or Mrs. Evans know if you can t attend. Everyone is required to be there on Saturday. Teachers: Mr. Bourne will have a faculty meeting at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning in the music room. Ineligible list is due to office no later than 10:45 Friday morning. Elementary spring pictures will be taken on Wednesday, March 23 rd. Please fill out the picture form and send with your child on picture day. Extra order forms are available in the office. Griggsville-Perry CUSD #4 is accepting bids for lawn care services for the upcoming season. Lawn care includes but is not limited to keeping all grass at all school grounds in a well-groomed manner, trimming, spraying of grass on ball diamonds, spraying of weeds when necessary, and trimming of bushes. The expectation of the Griggsville-Perry School District is that all school grounds will be wellkept and attractive. Bids must be submitted to Janet Gladu, Superintendent at the Griggsville-Perry Central Office, PO Box 439, Griggsville, IL no later than 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, Last chance to purchase the yearbooks is March 31st! Don't miss out on your copy! Yearbooks for are available for purchase too! They are $40, until April 29th. Purchase your copy today!

2 The Class of 2018 is selling Krispy Kreme Donuts now through Friday. Regular glazed are $8/dozen, and special varieties are $9/dozen. Please see a sophomore if you are interested in purchasing any donuts! Thank you for your support. They will be delivered Next Wednesday. These are the only available NHS Build an Animals that are left: giraffe, dragon, & unicorn. Contact Kayt Risley if you would like one. Cost is $20. Thanks! It s about that time! Time to sign up for summer softball and baseball! Forms have went home with students. They need to be filled out and returned to Jamie Kelley at the Elementary by Monday, March 21 st! There is also a $40 per child fee that also needs to be turned in with these forms. Checks may be made to GPSL. You may also drop off forms and money at the Griggsville City Hall TONIGHT from 6 to 7 pm. There are forms available in the school office. If you have any questions please call Derrick Nash at HS Winter Sports Parents: Griggsville-Perry would like to invite you to the HS Winter Sports Banquet tomorrow evening at 6:00 p.m. in the high school gym. We will recognize the boys and girls basketball teams, players, cheerleaders and coaches. The school will provide drinks. Please bring a side dish or dessert G-P Athletics Exciting news! Our school district has the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $25,000 through the America s Farmers #GrowRuralEd program, but we need your help. Farmers can go online and nominate our school district to better our chances. Learn more about the program here: For the fifth consecutive year, the Monsanto Fund is gearing up to invest $2.3 million to strengthen math and science programs in rural public school districts. Through America s Farmers Grow Rural Education, farmers can nominate the eligible local public school district of their choice. After our school district is nominated, we can submit our application to compete for a grant. The more farmers we have nominate our school district, the more it demonstrates community

3 support and can help strengthen our application. Deadline for nominations from farmers is April 1, Thank you! Requirements for nominating the school are at least 21 or older and actively farming a minimum of 250 acres of corn, soybeans and/or cotton, or 40 acres of open-field vegetables, or at least 10 acres of vegetables in protected culture and NOT a seed dealer or spouse of a seed dealer. The senior class of 2016 is sponsoring Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. in the Griggsville Cafeteria. Please join us for a free will donation. Pancakes, Sausage, and Biscuits and Gravy breakfast, along with photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, who will be making his appearance. HS students: We have an abundance of overdue books!! Please see Mrs. Evans if you are one of the following: Ashlyn Crone (3), Myesha Edwards, Kayla McCallister (5), Kobie McCallister (2), Ashley McCarter, Gavin McDaniel (3), Madison Miller, Bailey Powers (2) Kayce Smith, and Shay Taylor (1). Sports: HS baseball and softball games that were cancelled on Monday have been rescheduled for April 11 at 4:30 at Pleasant Hill. Today: Tornadoes at Brussels (1 game) at 4:30 pm and Lady Tornadoes at Brussels at 4:30 pm in a double header. Bus leaves at 2:10. Please dismiss teams at 1:50 P.M. Monday: Lady Tornadoes softball at Western at 4:30 pm. Tuesday: Lady Tornadoes and Tornadoes are at home against Greenfield at 4:30 pm. Wednesday: Junior High Track meet at ISD at 4 pm. Tornadoes at Unity at 4:30 pm.

(Parent Meeting 5:00) Friday: 3:15-4:30 Saturday? Track practice has started! Athletes must have good running shoes and warm clothes. Please make sure that you have running shoes, not cross trainers, basketball shoes, etc. Physical and insurance forms must be up to date in the office. There will be a mandatory parent/athlete meeting on Thursday, March 17 th at 5:00. Practice will last until 5:00 the evening of the meeting.
