Corduroy Goes to First Grade Lebanon Borough School
Mrs. Turner Saturday, April 9 It was a cool, sunny day at the shore. I was so excited to be outside after being inside all winter! In the morning we went for a long bike ride along the bay, and stopped to swing on the swings. We made grandma lunch and took her outside for some fresh air, then worked a little in the garden. Everyone loved being outside! Before dinner we walked up to the beach and I got to see the ocean - it was big and calm and so blue! We had lots of company for dinner, and I got to eat my favorite food - pizza! I hope I can come back to Lavallette soon!
Emma Tuesday, April 12 I really wanted to do some clay, but instead I watched. I was really good at math. I thought the homework was really easy. When I went to sleep I asked for a story. So Emma read me a story. I hope I can see Emma again.
Lily Wednesday, April 13 When Lily and I got home we had plans to go to soccer practice but it was rained out. So we climbed the ladder of Lily s bunk bed and pretended it was a beanstalk. We got to the top bunk and pretended we were in the clouds, and my big stuffed animal was a princess who said, Come, you ll love my castle. We did have a good time. She was feeding the tigers and brought one over so we could pet it. Then she brought over her elephant so we could pet and ride him. We had a great time together. Later I had dinner with Lily s family. Then we read a book and went to sleep.
Hannah Thursday, April 14 It was a hot and sunny day when Hannah and I came out of school. We went to zumba. It was so much fun and we goofed around a little. Then we took a little walk. Then we drew some pictures - it was fun! I did a funny picture, then we took a nap. Then we ate supper. Then she read me a book of me! I can t wait to come back!
Chloe Tuesday, April 26 It was a very warm day in Lebanon. I went to the park after Chloe got out of school. After that I went on a bike ride. Before bed I did homework with Chloe.
William Wednesday, April 27 Today William and I played with his tek deks. They are too small for William to ride! I tried to go down a ramp, but I fell down. Ouch!!!!
Kylie Thursday, April 28 I went in the elevator with Kylie at her house. Then we did Kylie s homework, and she taught me some math. For dinner we had carrots, macaroni and cheese, and fried chicken. The chicken was my favorite part! I had fun at Kylie s house.
Hayley Friday, April 29 It was a nice Spring weekend. Hayley took me for a bike ride on Saturday night. On Sunday we went to swim lessons. I watched Hayley do a seat dive. We hung upside down on a bar. I had a fun time with Hayley!
Jake Monday, May 2 Today I went to the park with Jake. When we got home we did homework and then we played basketball. I got to eat a great dinner with Jake and his mom and dad. Jake and I had carrot cake for dessert. I hope I am invited to Jake s house again!
Kristen Tuesday, May 3 I went in Kristen s car. I had fun learning how to ride a scooter and a bike. After playing on the swing, we played the piano. For dinner we had ravioli and we drank juice.
Kieran Wednesday, May 4 After school I went to karate lessons with Kieran. Then we went home and we ate dinner. It was meatballs and spaghetti. We brushed our teeth and we went to bed.
Isabella Thursday, May 5 Today was a cool day, so we went outside until 4:00. We came in, then we did half of her homework. Then we got to play her DS. We got her homework done, then we ate rice and fish. It was good! Then we brushed our teeth and went to bed. She was a good friend. I really had fun! I wish I didn t have to go!
Mason Saturday, May 7 When I woke up I was so happy because I knew I d be able to go to Mason s baseball game. When I got there Mason was the fourth one at bat, and he whacked the ball past third base! What a great game! After we got home we ate honey chicken. Then I brushed my teeth and went to bed.
A.J. Monday, May 9 I rode in the car with A.J. to daycare. We watched a movie. His mom picked us up and we went to his home. We played Chutes and Ladders and I won!!
Albulena Tuesday, May 10 It was a nice sunny day. Albulena played the guitar for me and she measured my height. We had chicken soup for dinner. The next morning we had some cereal for breakfast.
Evan Wednesday, May 11 Go Gators! we shouted at Evan sister s softball game. His sister s team is the Gators. I was playing kick the pine cone and tag with Evan and other boys. To play kick the pine cone you pick up a pine cone, drop it, and kick it. I was it first in tag. Then we played dodge cone. In dodge cone you throw pine cones. We went back to Evan s house and had pizza. Later we found out that the Gators won 6-2!
Alexa Thursday, May 12 It was a fun and funny day at the Baldinger house. I met someone who has the same unusual name as me, Corduroy. He was a movie star and wore the coolest green overalls. Then the three of us watched his video, and then we did stand-up-comedy! I laughed so hard that my tummy tickled. I wish I could stay with Alexa forever!
Spencer Saturday, May 14 I woke up and had a wonderful breakfast with Spencer and his family. In the afternoon I went to Spencer s baseball game. It was a cool sunny day. Spencer played excellent. Spencer and I came home and watched the Met game together. We had eggplant parm for dinner. It s my new favorite food.
Spring 2011 First grade planted a garden and I helped them. We planted spinach, swiss chard, basil, tomatoes, and 6 kinds of lettuce. Then we ate it. I got to eat it also!
