If not, the highest position you can try out for is alternate status. Please check the statement below that applies to you: YES! I have been accepted to UGA. When you tryout for alternate status, it means just that. If you are accepted to UGA after tryouts this DOES NOT mean that you will automatically be added to the team. If there are spots still available, it will be left to the discretion of the coaches on whether you will be placed on the team. Please initial next to which team or position you are trying out for. If you are interested in trying out for BOTH the Coed and All Girl programs, please initial which program you would MOST prefer. Also, in order to compete, you MUST be on a spirit squad as well. In submitting this application, I consent that the information provided is true and accurate. I accept and understand that the decision of the judges will be final. I also understand that the final authority will rest with the Spirit Coordinator and the judges for the tryouts, and I will accept and abide by these decisions. I am a full time student at the University of Georgia, or I have provided with this application a copy of my formal acceptance letter to the University of Georgia. (if you have not received your official acceptance letter by the time of tryouts, the highest position you may tryout for is alternate status). 2. I have included with this application proof of a recent physical that is within 1 calendar year of the tryout date any sports physical will suffice. 3. I have included with this application a copy of BOTH sides of my medical insurance card. 4. As an incoming freshman, transfer student, or not being a current member of the program, I have included a cover letter/letter of intent, letter of recommendation from my current cheerleading coach (only incoming freshmen), a 4x6 head to toe color picture, a 4x6 color headshot picture, and a resume of accomplishments (cheer/dance/mascot and non-cheer/dance/mascot related). 5. I have no health or physical defects that would hinder my ability to perform as a cheerleader/dance dawg/mascot or which may cause these activities to be unsafe to my health. 6. I have included with the application a $50.00 non-refundable tryout application fee (Cash, Cashier s Check, or Money Order ONLY, made payable to UGAA. (NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!) 6 Cheerleading Tryout Skill Requirements Coed Stunting Toss Extension (Required) Hands Liberty (Required) Toss Lib (Encouraged) Any other stunting variations are welcome. You MUST be able to stunt with multiple partners. All Girl Stunting Flyers must be able to pull all body positions (lib, heel stretch, scorp, arabesque, scale, bow & arrow). Must be very knowledgeable of full ups, low-high tick tock, high-high tick tock, and switch-ups from a basing and flying perspective. You MUST be open to trying new skills! Standing Tumbling Standing Tuck (Required for Females and Males) Triple Jump to Back Tuck (Required for Females) Standing Handsprings to Layout (Minimal Requirement) Standing Handsprings to Full (Encouraged) Jumps to Handspring Full (Encouraged) Running Tumbling Round Off Handspring Layout (Minimal Requirement) Round Off Handspring Full (Encouraged) Specialty Passes (Encouraged) ** All Tumbling is executed on a hard, foam block floor.**

7 2016 UGA cheerleading Tryout Checklist Please make sure when you send in your application for tryouts that you check off the following items to ensure your registration it is completed. Cover Letter/Letter of Intent (only if you are an incoming freshman, transfer student, or not a current member of the program) Tryout Application (pages 1-3 of this packet) Official Acceptance Letter to UGA (if applicable) Letter of Recommendation From You Current Coach/Teacher (only if you are an incoming freshman) Have your coach/teacher put this into a sealed envelope and include it with your packet that you mail in.
