2 NEVADA SPIRIT TEAM TRYOUT PACKET General Infrmatin April 29 th - May 1 st There are NO VIDEO tryuts available fr the Seasn All applicatins must be received by Tuesday, April 26 th (Please nte: the University mail system can take an additinal 2-3 days t deliver.) The Nevada Spirit Prgram is made up f all arund talented individuals. Teams have emphasis in different skills, but verall Nevada Cheer is fcused n kind, talented, utging yung men and wmen that are lking t supprt their University, perfrm at games and events, wrk with yunger cheerleaders as rle mdels, and mst imprtantly, achieve in the classrm and get a cllege degree. Abut the Nevada Cheer Prgram The Nevada Spirit Prgram cheers fr: ftball, vlleyball, men s and wmen s basketball. Members f the team cach yung children ages 3yrs ld thru middle schl all year lng thru the Perfrm with the Pack Prgram. Travel varies frm year t year. There are NO schlarships available, but Spirit Members d get athletic privileges. Reprt back fr the Fall is early August, Thanksgiving and Christmas Breaks are shrtened d t game schedules. Practice fr the seasn will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5pm-7:30pm Requirements are: ALL AROUND cheer experience - Game & schl cheer experience encuraged This includes dancing, perfrming, jumping, cheering, mtins, memry, executin and tumbling. Tumbling skill will help t add t the well rundedness f a the cheerleader trying ut but it is NOT required t be n any team. Nevada Cheer nly COED Stunts. Interested stunt female candidates fr ced stunt are recmmended t have stunt flying experience. Interested stunt male candidates are recmmended t have an athletic backgrund, with sme ced stunt experience.

Interviews will be held. I understand that the Nevada Spirit Team Try-uts described herein invlve the risk f injury r death and the risk f damage t r lss f prperty. I understand that these activities invlve serius dangers and inherent risks, including risks assciated with travel t and frm such activities in Nevada and Califrnia, as well as travel t and in muntainus regins and ther remte places. 11 UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA Certificate f Eligibility Nevada Spirit Prgram In rder t be eligible fr participatin in the Nevada Spirit Prgram, Cheer, Stunt, Pm, Tumble r Masct, the student must be accepted t the University f Nevada. If he/she is already a student at Nevada, then he/she must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA t try ut fr the team. The student must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA per semester and maintain fulltime enrllment (12 credit hurs) at Nevada if selected as part f the Nevada Spirit Prgram (Cheer, Stunt, Pm, Tumble r Masct). All f the abve requirements must be met prir t the semester the student will try ut. If fr any reasn the student falls belw full time r des nt maintain a cumulative GPA f 2.0, they may be suspended r remved frm the spirit prgram. If the student des nt fulfill any f the respnsibilities f the Spirit Prgram, the student may be suspended r remved frm the prgram.
