1 ISSUE #14, October 2017 IN THIS ISSUE: Sports page P3 Cycling success!! by Daniel and Vasil, 6FB Space Facts P4 Year 6 took part in cycle training called Bikeability. After practising in the MUGA - doing things such as signalling and u-turns - we then progressed to go on to the roads! We rode along Mill Lane and Aldred Road following the Trainers. We also had to go on our own for a small journey. It was a little scary and nerve racking, especially with all the cars but we got used to it. Guess the animal! P5 It was a really good training course as we are now getting a bit old to go on the pavements and may start riding to school on the roads. Gaming page P8

3 Sports page by Vasil, 6FB and Antoine, 5W Football Quiz 1. What team won the Russia 2017 confederation cup? 2. What player has scored the most goals during his career? 3. What team won the 2015 premier league cup? 4. What team won the 2016 premier league cup? Find the answers on the back page. How did we do at Cross Country? In Y4 the girls did really well but unfortunately came back with no medals but Joshua in the same class came 4th place and got a bronze medal. The Y3 went next and Rosie got a bronze medal for coming 8th place while Boris came 2nd with a silver badge. The Y5 girls went next and Klea came 1st and got a gold medal but sadly nobody in Y5 boys got a medal but Bailey came 14th place. In Y6 nobody got any medals but Daniel, Aidan, Lucas, Lucca, Arthur, Conor C, Abel, Emilie, Judy and Nicola tried their best and did really well. 3
4 Book reviews Vlera, 5Mc World Worst Children by David Walliams This book is about 10 of the world s worst children. My favourite is Bertha the blubberer which is about a girl who always cries, but sometimes she pretends her brother pinched her so he gets in trouble. Here are some of the things she cries about: loud noise, silence, the dark, orange juice with bits, moustaches and the colour purple. In the end Bertha pulls out all of her hair because she was really angry with her brother and says it was all him, but her parents were watching her the whole time so she didn't get to have any more dessert for the rest of her life. Star Struck by Rachel Shukert This book is about 3 girls who audition for an acting job. Only one girl gets in but she gets bad luck. One of the things that happens to her is that she falls on stage while filming. Her manager then gets really mad at her. As her punishment since she really likes coffee, her manager said she's not aloud it for a week so her best friend comes and secretly gets her coffee. Emmanuel express space facts by Connor, 3B 1. The universe is made of a few types of matter, (types of particles in space.) dark matter, proton, antimatter, dark energy, neutron, antiprotons, and antineutrons. There are also neutrinos and antineutrinos. 2. Did you know that Jupiter 's Great Red Spot is the biggest storm in the solar system? 3. The meteor Canyon Diablo is shiny blue and landed in the Arizona, USA. Its explosion was 150 times greater than the atom bomb. 4
