The aim of these competitions is to promote and propagate amongst our younger generations the thought, philosophy and values of Mahatma Gandhi. In today s strife-torn world, Gandhiji has gained renewed relevance. In keeping with this tradition, we will be holding these Inter-School/College competitions this year too. We are enclosing herewith the Time-Table of various events with a request to display it on your Notice Board for the information of your students. We would request you to go through the rules-regulations for each of these competitions. This will help to avoid any inconvenience to the participants and organizers at any stage. Students will colour the drawing on sketch paper (The choice of colours is left to the student) 3. ENTRIES WILL BE RESTRICTED TO THE BEST FIVE STUDENTS FROM EACH STANDARD AND NOT FROM EACH DIVISION. 4. The time allotted will be one hour. 5. Participants will have to bring their own Drawing material except Paper, which will be supplied by the organizers. 6. Competitors should bring their DRAWING BOARDS 7. FILM SONG is not allowed. 3. School can send one group consisting of not less than EIGHT and not more than TEN students excluding the accompanists in each language for presenting ONE song. 4. The time limit will be 5 minutes. 9
10 5. The maximum number of accompanists allowed will be three. (The Participant School should send at least One Musical instrument player). 6. The Nidhi will provide musical instruments.(only Harmonium & Tabla). 7. There will be three prizes of Rs. 600/-, Rs. 500/- and Rs. 400/-. If the entries are less than TEN in any language only two prizes (Ist &IInd) will be awarded. 8. In the Group singing one student leading and followed by others in chorus is not allowed. 9. Students should come in their school uniform. 10. Participant school should submit a copy of song at the Nidhi's office. 11. Participant school should announce name of the school, title and author of the song at the beginning. 12. School should clearly mention the language & no. of participants in the entry form. (a) Gandhiji s Life (b) Gandhian Ideology OR RULES FOR COMPETITION NO. 12 (c) Any Item from Gandhiji s Constructive Programme 2. Duration of the play shall be 10 minutes for K.G., 15 minutes for primary and 20 minutes for secondary schools. 3. The material for the play will have to be brought by the participating Schools. 4. THE PLAY CAN BE IN ANY OF THE TWO LANGUAGES VIZ. ENGLISH and HINDI 5. There will be three categories i.e. K.G., Primary and Secondary in each language. 6. There will be two prizes in each category and language as given below, if the entries are MORE than five and if the entries are LESS than five the decision of the Judges will be final and binding. K. G. : Rs. 500/- and Rs. 400/- PRIMARY : Rs. 600/- and Rs. 500/- SECONDARY : Rs. 700/- and Rs. 600/- 7. The Participant Schools should submit copy of the script to the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi s office. 8. XI & XII) GENERAL RULES FOR ALL COMPETITIONS 1. THE COMPETITIONS WILL BE HELD IN ENGLISH, MARATHI, HINDI AND GUJARATI. PARTICIPANTS CAN CHOOSE ONLY ONE OF THESE LANGUAGES. 2. The decision of the Judges will be final th 3. Entries should reach the office through the Principal of the school by Monday, 4 July Names of the selected Participants should be sent along with the Entry Form. 5. The Teachers are requested to ensure that as far as possible, the Poem/ Passage is not repeated. 6. The participants are requested to adhere to the rules of each competition scrupulously. 7. Students should come in their school uniforms. 8. All the competitions will be held according to the time table at Mani Bhavan. (Competition No.11,12,13,14 will be held at a.m.) 9. Only one parent or teacher can accompany the participant. 10. Changes if any in the programmes will be intimated to the school/ college and also on internet. 11. A Competition may be cancelled in the event of insufficient or no response at all. 12. Second rounds of the Competitions will be held wherever necessary within 10 to 15 days of the first rounds. Intimation along with list of selected participants will be sent accordingly. 13. Final results of the Competitions will be announced after Diwali vacation. NOTE: Participants can use the literature from Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya library or on web site for reference 13
