Saturday, February 3, 2018 Dublin Jerome HS (Central) 8300 Hyland-Croy Road Dublin, OH Saturday, February 10, 2018 Chillicothe HS (South) 421 Yoctangee Parkway Chillicothe, OH Sunday, February 4, 2018 Stivers School for the Arts (Southwest) 1313 East Fifth Street Dayton, OH Saturday, February 10, 2018 Minerva HS (Northeast) 501 Almeda Ave. Minerva, OH Sunday, February 11, 2018 St. Clairsville HS (Southeast) 102 Woodrow Ave. St Clairsville, OH Sunday, February 11, 2018 Sylvania Southview HS (Northwest) 7225 W. Sylvania Ave. Sylvania, OH Teams must attend and qualify at any one of the OASSA Regional events in February (listed above) to compete at the State of Ohio Cheerleading & Dance Championships on Saturday, March 3 or Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Central Ohio. 2. Each qualified team will receive a State Qualifier trophy at their OASSA Regional Event. Trophies for all places will be awarded at the OASSA State Championships. First place Championship winners per cheer and dance division will also receive a banner. Each member of each first place Championship team will receive an additional award. 3. This series of events is for Varsity cheerleading and dance teams only with members from Grades Teams may combine to compete. For example, members of the JV or Freshman squads may be combined with the Varsity squad to create a competition team. No all-star teams are eligible to compete. No middle level teams/members are eligible to compete. 4. OASSA Regionals and the State of Ohio Cheerleading and Dance Championships events will be divided into categories. The Building and Non-Building Cheer Divisions will be separated according to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) girls high school enrollment figures as provided by the Ohio Department of Education. OASSA reserves the right to reassign any team registered in the incorrect category. To verify your school s enrollment figure, visit < SearchSchool>. For 2018, the Non-Tumbling Cheer Division may, at OASSA s option, be divided or combined at the State Championships based on qualifying 20 or more teams (see registration form). The dance events will be divided according to style. The dance categories are Jazz, Hip/Hop and Pom. Be sure to study the 2018 Cheer and Dance Rules page on our website to select the category/style in which your team will be participating. 5. There are no placements awarded at Regional events. Teams will be qualified or not qualified at the Regionals events to advance to the State Championships. There is no set number of teams that must qualify per Regionals site. 6. Judges will not issue penalties at Regionals, but they will make note of them on score sheets so that teams will be able to correct routines by the State Championships date. It is the coaches responsibility to ensure your State routine follows the OASSA competition rules ( OASSA Rules and Regulations ). In addition, Cheer Building teams should follow AACCA guidelines. Cheer Non-Building teams should follow NFHS guidelines. OASSA s dance rules are derived from UDA s competition rules, as outlined in the Dance Routine Rules section of the 2018 OASSA Rules and Regulations. 7. Registrants should thoroughly read and understand the 2018 OASSA Rules and Regulations prior to competing, found here: Registration Questions?
