1 2017 CHEERBRANDZ NATIONALS COMPETITION Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th November 2017 LOCATION: SYDNEY SHOWGROUNDS HALL 5A, 1 AUSTRALIA AVE, SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK: ATHLETE/PARENT PICK UP AND DROP OFF: Athletes will need to be dropped off to their coach at the competition entry at the below listed meet time. They will then need to be picked up at the same spot immediately after their team competes.

3 Please Note: If you are late to the competition your team will not be able to compete. The competition will not wait for any late athletes nor will the running order be re-arranged, under ANY circumstances. It is important to ensure you allow ample time when arranging your travel to the competition. CLUB SUPPORT: It s always great to watch and support as many other Shire Elite teams at the competition as possible. SPECTATOR TICKETS: Tickets can be purchased at the door and are cash only. 4 CREATING THE SHIRE ELITE LOOK: At Shire Elite, we take great pride in creating a neat and professional image for our gym. It is exceptionally important that time and effort is put into creating the Shire Elite look for competition day. In our experience, the image that a team and it s athletes present on competition day can make a massive difference to their confidence and energy levels, which in turn substantially impacts their performance on the day. Arriving at the Competition: You need to arrive at the stadium in full uniform/costume with your hair and base makeup done. Whilst at the competition, you must have your 2017 Shire Elite shirt on at all times (exceptions: going to and from the warm up room and competition floor.) Keeping Warm: You may wear any Shire Elite apparel to keep warm including this year or any previous years tracksuit pants, long shirts, and/or hoodies. If you do not have Shire Elite merchandise, please only wear plain colours such as black or white. Nails: Nails need to be cut short, so that when facing palm up, no nail is visible. NO ACRYLICS OR NAIL POLISH. Jewellery: All jewellery must be removed before arriving at the competition. If you are worried about having your jewellery out that early, it MUST at least be removed before heading to warm up and can not be given to the coach to mind - ensure you have a safe place to put it such as a bag. Tan: We highly recommend getting a spray tan unless you have naturally dark skin, as the competition lighting does wash out most people. If you choose to get a spray tan, ensure it is done at least one day before competition. Moisturiser: Do not moisturise on the day of the competition as it will make your skin slippery and difficult to grip (especially flyers). **** YOU WILL FIND ALL ROUTINE SPECIFIC UNIFORM/COSTUME, HAIR & MAKEUP INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING PAGES. ****

CHEER TEAMS, GROUP & PARTNER STUNT: Uniform: Skirt, top, bow, white ankle socks, all white cheer shoes (exceptions: royals black socks, black shoes, any variations for group and partner stunt that

Hair: High, slick, straightened ponytail with bow. Some neat teasing may be applied to create a fuller ponytail.

5 CHEER TEAMS, GROUP & PARTNER STUNT: Uniform: Skirt, top, bow, white ankle socks, all white cheer shoes (exceptions: royals black socks, black shoes, any variations for group and partner stunt that have been approved.) Underwear must be black. Athletes who require wearing a bra, please ensure it is not visible under your uniform, including at the back. Hair: High, slick, straightened ponytail with bow. Some neat teasing may be applied to create a fuller ponytail. It is a good idea to NOT wash your hair the day of, or the day before the competition as slightly dirty hair is easier to style. Makeup: Foundation, powder, bronzer, black eyeliner, black mascara or false eyelashes (false eyelashes are recommended but not compulsory), natural eyeshadow and blush, red lipstick (the exact lipstick given with your uniform must be worn, please do not apply a different shade of red). We also recommend adding definition to your eyebrows for a polished look. Hair example: Makeup example:

6 HARLEQUINS: Costume: Blue shorts, blue long sleeve top, white t-shirt, socks, shoes, hair wrap. Underwear/ sports bra/crop top MUST be nude or white. Hair: Slicked high pony-tail covered by the hair wrap (included with costume) tied around. Ponytail is separated in to 2 plaits. Hair elastics MUST be similar to your hair colour. Steph is happy to assist with hair if required but please note you will need to arrive earlier on comp day to allow plenty of time for this. Makeup: Same as cheer, other than different lipstick which is provided with costume (the exact lipstick given with your costume must be worn, please do not apply a different shade). KINGPINS: Costume: Shorts, shirt, hoodie t-shirt, socks, boots. Underwear/sports bra/crop top must be black, navy, nude or white. Hair: Males: Styled neatly Females: Centre part with 2 dutch braids. Hair elastics MUST be similar to your hair colour. Steph is happy to assist with hair if required but please note you will need to arrive earlier on comp day to allow plenty of time for this. Makeup: Females: Same as cheer, other than different lipstick which is provided with costume (the exact lipstick given with your uniform must be worn, please do not apply a different shade). Smokey eye is preferred and false eyelashes are recommended but not compulsory.

7 DON T FORGET TO BRING: Always pack your bags AT LEAST the morning of the day before competition. This way you have time to deal with any issues that may arise i.e. missing items. Simply print out this page and tick off each item as you are packing your bag.
